Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes
Summarise your game!
1 Ceres (pronounced seer-eez), the first known asteroid discovered in 1801, has just collided and destroyed a planet. In doing so, this destructive act has given it a waning sort of sentience. You, Ceres, must continue destroying celestial bodies to build sentience and power.
By simply clicking and dragging, aim and propel yourself towards planets to destroy them. But watch out. Space is not without its dangers!
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You are the asteroid, which is the weapon used to inflict destruction in the universe!
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Destructible sprites that fragment was definitely something that I needed to be a part of this game. It took me nearly half of the game jam to figure this out and properly implement it. I've run out of time to explore this mechanic further and add "juice" to make it look even more amazing, but I hope it doesn't go unnoticed!

Simple mechanic but still fun. Seems like there's a bug where you die if you drag too far. Seems i hit some invisible obstacles too. Still tho, you did a good job!
Enjoyed playing and completing your submission. Creative interpretation of the theme.
Aesthetic is nice and retro - all fits together.
For improvements, the asteroids need some work. It is too easy to just barge through them and "cheat" the level. Also, the invis asteroids at the edge of a path bug others have mentioned.
Cool game. Good job!
I really appreciate you playing! 100% noted on the hit boxes on the fading out asteroids. I know from watching people play SMM that hitboxes are the most important thing you can’t screw up, as they will drive the player crazy! I also got caught out by this in my own playtesting, just struggled to fix it without causing chaos and bugs from trying to delete things that were already deleted. I’ll get better at that next time for sure!
Sincerely appreciate the feedback! :)
This was fun.
This is a great twist on a classic gameplay concept! The sounds are super effective, and the puzzled difficult yet rewarding. There were a couple of times i died to an asteroid that had already faded out (or was 1% opacity) which was painful. I didn't count what level it was, but I finished a level by going outside around instead of through the asteroid path :)
great work! I also love the theming of an asteroid gaining sentience and threatening us lol
Really solid point. I’ve actually run into that myself. I probably should have disabled the hitboxes when the fading in/out begins! Unfortunately I’ve been struggling with managing the timing of events (probably because of my spaghetti code). Next game jam I will definitely try to keep things more organized so I can address things like this more easily.
I appreciate you playing!
Cool game and great visuals!
Much appreciated!
