- Great game! It’s a fun and engaging way to learn typing skills and command-line basics. I really enjoyed the retro PC theme, though the potions felt more like a side task than the main focus.

good music and visual style
needs a tutorial though, if you go into it blind its hard to figure out what to do (dont worry, my game needs a tutorial too)
Hello Karbuster. Thanks a lot for playing our game!
You're 100% spot on regarding the tutorial. We've got a lot of mechanics that aren't super common/straight forward and some players have found this confusing.
We were focussed on developing the game and the features and trying to add polish where we could. This was our first Game Jam and first time working in Unity, so we definitely overlooked a few things.
On reflection, we really should have put in some more tutorials - even if they were in a basic form. We've started working on a full version of this game, building it from the ground up and we're going to make sure this is included :D
Cool design & love the CRT effect.
Well played with the theme interpretation.
At first, I didn't get that we had to enter the text above.
So I was trying stuff like `rm -rf /` & `:(){ :|:& };:` XD
Hey JM! You're not alone! Quite a few people were stumped by the hacking minigame! haha. I'm glad that you figured it out, though. When we make the full version of the game, we're definitely going to do a better job of explaining this one :D thanks so much for playing our game and sharing some feedback.
Very fun! The hacking sequence reminds me of Greyhat!
Thank you, Bohiston. I haven't personally checked out Greyhat, but I definitely will. Maybe we can get some good ideas to further develop the hacking minigame. Thank you for playing our game <3
The visual style of the game is really cool, and the music fits well! I like games that employ "hacking" mechanics -- I would have liked to see more complexity in that part of the game, but also understand that that would probably alienate a lot of players. I also really enjoyed the use of particle effect feedback on the buttons!
My critical feedback is that I needed more rapid feedback in the battle scenes after selecting my action. When I selected my action (hack, firewall, overload), the game paused for multiple seconds before I saw anything actually happen in response. Initially this was confusing, it seemed like the game was asking me to do something more before it responded to my actions. It would be nice to have 0 delay, to decrease time-to-feedback, and also make it possible to run through the battles faster.
I would also like to see a health Number displayed somewhere, instead of a sliding scale
Hey Dan! Thanks for the great feedback. You're absolutely right about the combat. We wanted to try to add more feedback for the player so that they could understand what was happening. We started out by adding this in the UI with the elixir and 'action' buttons effects to let the player know what was going on there, but didn't very successfully provide feedback about the battle outcomes. I also agree that the pacing could be better in the battles. We do have some ideas for this going forwards, however :)
Thanks again for the great feedback and for playing our game <3
The overall aesthetic of the game is great - I love the retro cyberpunk art style, music and art direction. The progression gives the player so many possibilities to make themselves stronger and the amount of content is great.
What a lovely comment. Thank you, Betel!
Im such a sucker for an in game terminal and that CRT look is awesome, this was a really fun game! My favourite bits were for sure the typing and hacking elements, "type what you see while timed" is a pretty cool mechanic that gives that hacker immersion without really needing to know anything about the topic. I liked the combat, although Im not usually a fan of turn based combat like this, it had a surprising amount of depth and carry through between turns for only having three abilities. My main feedback would be that this feels like two games smooshed together, either would be awesome, but if you were to take it further I'd recommend just picking one direction and refining it down.
Overall an awesome game though with really cool visuals and a great soundtrack, awesome take on the genre and jam prompt well done!
Thank you for the amazing feedback.
And I am super happy you enjoyed it, Headstart45
I really like the music of the game and the gameplay seems good. At times the menus are a little hard to read due to the art style and the amount of elements everywhere, including some elements that are not interactable. I really like the way it looks, but at times it is just hard to know what is happening
Some really valuable feedback here! Thanks for letting us know and thanks for playing our game :)
The music is great - very well produced and doesn't fatigue the ears at all no matter how long you play for. For such a simple concept it's executed very very well and I found myself wanting to grind through all of the jobs. It doesn't just feel like a POC game either, the boss fights are actually well balanced and force you to not skip earlier jobs.
There's also little to no bugs either. Great job team.
Thank you so much for the feedback, Paperth1n, and thank you for playing our game. I'm a big fan of the music in our game and props go to our "Sound guy" Voltone, for that! Let me know if you manage to beat the job 8 boss. He's a real monster :D
I really like the take on the theme! Also this is a nice game, very addicting and a nice vibe.
That's really nice of you to say, thank you for playing our game, Merulon <3
Sound: Many barks. Music very catchy. Sound effects make ears perk up. Every bark unique, like snowflakes. Surround sound make feel like in dog park.
Many thank you barks!
Much review. Such good. Many thanks.
Super fun and has an awesome style!
Thanks z0nbl3!
Thank you <3
Really cool, love the hacking mechanic, music is sick too :)
Thank you! <3
Thanks Viath!
