  • Really enjoyed the art and gameplay. for the first customer I would maybe try to guide the player through it
  • I think I almost got caught up playing this. From the artistic approach to the music, I was definitely hooked while playing, trying to figure out the right combinations for things. And while this style of game isn't one I typically go to, I believe the way everything was structured was done very well. From the character interactions, to the interesting narratives that could come from speaking with customers. Even there being some reason a human works in the world you've put together; all of it intrigues me. While all of this was very uniquely put together, it took me a moment to interpret how the themes were implemented, but from my experience playing, I saw shadow as more of a secret society (through reading and interpreting the dialogue), while alchemy was the obvious crafting drinks for customers, but the way it was done felt good. I enjoyed my time playing, and will venture back to this one and play more, so do keep up the good work!

very cool and stylish game nice!!!

Wow this game is amazing! It's crazy good! It feels like an extended demo of a game that has (or is expecting) a full release! It's so good all around--the art, music, story, sounds, and there's a ton of juice and polish to everything.

Minor things I noticed if y'all continue to work on this (please continue to work on this!!):

  • Somehow I have a save file with negative elixirs. Not sure what causes that, but it specifically happened after I reloaded it. I do need to go back and try for some other endings, this might make it a little hard haha (or maybe I'll reset not sure...)
  • Some of the buttons feel a bit small, like the arrows on the elixirs when you're making a drink, but there are some other instances too like in the settings menu.
  • The light minigame definitely feels a bit repetitive after a while. Not sure if that's a bad thing--the game has a chill vibe to it overall which is fun. Maybe it can use a tiny bit more variety? Might be something to playtest a bit more, not really sure myself what's best for players.
  • I personally enjoyed the difficulty and pacing with where it was at.

Really awesome job! Amazing how much y'all got done in 2 weeks! If you make a longer and paid release I'd probably buy haha :)

Hello! Thanks for the in-depth feedback!

  • The negative elixirs is a bug that I've been aware of since a few days, It won't affect your game don't worry but it's still annoying. I'll fix that once the jam is over and thanks for confirming it!
  • The UI needs to be reworked a bit I agree with you, that's another thing we'll do once the jam is over.
  • I also agree, we tried to add the move bonus to make it more interesting but it might be something we'll also work on once the jam is over.
  • I'm happy that you enjoyed the difficulty! We struggled a lot with the balance and we had a lot of mixed feedbacks (too easy, too difficult...) so it's nice to see someone who finds it good.

Thanks again for playing!

I love all the custom art in this, your team did a wonderful job setting an atmosphere and filling it with weird but fascinating characters. You weren't kidding when you warn the game is hard, though!

This was very fun! I love all the character designs! I got killed for trying to be funny, seems about right lol.

I liked the purification process, that added a fun spin to making the drinks!

Just came here to say that even though I died on my first day, Jack and Jerry still paid me 27 dollars. Solid bosses. XD Still loving the music.

Developer

Amazing game, the gameplay is real and in really nice scope. I’m amazed by what you were able to do in two weeks. Kudos to the writer. Love the story/characters/everything <3

Wow, amazing work. Looks pretty, plays well.

I loved VA-11 Hall-A so this is right up my alley.

Probably my personal favorite from the jam.

It was a little confusing to deal with buying and selling ingredients though, that was not the fun part.

Thank you so much. Your comment means a lot to me. I love  VA-11 Hall-A and despite it being a niche Genre we decided to go for sth like this, hoping others will enjoy as well.

We will tweak After the Jam so thank you for the Feedback as well!

I was loving this game but I think its perhaps a little bit too punishing haha, I was liking the characters and story but ran out of money in the third day and couldn't continue. I think there should maybe be a bigger bonus to making a perfect drink, because usually the tip from making a perfect drink doesn't even cover the cost of ingredients. Though I'd understand if that's an intended mechanic to make the game more difficult.

I was really impressed with the length of the game as well, there's a lot of content for something made in 2 weeks! Also the character designs are awesome, particularly OH-4V.

Developer

Glad you liked it!

We struggled a bit with the balance even after a lot of playtesting. Thank you for the feedback, once the jam is over we'll try to fix that as best as we can!

Developer

thank you! All of us spend very much time on the project since it was so much fun! :) It was like: „Oh lets add this and this and a market…“ hahaha…

Also we might Balance a Bit After the Jam (but it was intended to be a mechanic to make it less easy and the  Money more valuable).

Thank you for playing!

Terrible work conditions. JJ made me pay for things out of my own pocket which I'm pretty violates some kind of labor laws. Customers were pretty nice most of the time though, even if they don't tip that great.

Developer

Hello, this is Jack and Jerry's lawyer.

Please be aware that according to your contract, line 284, dash 9, “the signing party will pay out of their own pocket for the resources necessary to carry out their work.”

Human laws not being the same as those of this world, no infringement has been committed.

Sincerely, a friendly lawyer.

My apologies. I see that now in the fine print, my bad.

For real though, you and the team made a great game with vibrant art, characters, and music that's just fun to experience, with a really neat drink system with an engaging puzzle. Awesome job.

Thanks! Glad you liked it!

Super sick artstyle and for once in this jam a mixing chemical game I actually understand! I didn't get much time to experience much the game, but it feels cool and the npcs in the screenshots look awesome! Great work!

Thank you! :D
