- - Sounds was cute, really reminded me of the old Win/dos days. - Making the directional a little bit brighter might help with direction to aim. Green on blue makes it a little harder on color blind people to see. There are websites for color blind friendly palettes for those sort of things. - The merging of two styles give a pool ball effect which is a very interesting and fun concept for being a weapon within your self! - Practicing movement in a game is always important, changing scales and having it slow down a bit more when hitting edges would be a good idea. Going super fast allows you to have less control but you hit a lot faster then intended. Still very fun, spent a lot of time messing with features and bug testing. Found if you hit the corner to fast it disappears! Still good fun, keep up the good work and add more enemies and explore those ideas. GDD was really good, remember it's always good to have as much info along with issues and concepts. So even you can look back on it

Summarise your game!
System Invaders is a fixed shooter in which players “slingshoot” themselves against the invading viruses to destroy them.
The goal of the player in this game is to survive as many waves as possible while upgrading their software to become faster and stranger so they can make it to the top of the leaderboard and unlock special skins and backgrounds along the way.
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
Within the context of a mashup between space invaders and angry birds, rather than shooting the “invaders” you smash into them by aiming at them or strategically bouncing off walls or other enemies, making you the weapon in the literal fashion.

Oh, this is awesome. I wasn't expecting to get hit in the nostalgia feels but I'm certainly there! Love a good wallpaper game- it reminds me of the flash game widgets you could install back in the day.
The drag to shoot mechanic was really smooth! If you take this further, definitely consider making a mobile version! It's a great market for first timers as it converts really well from Insta / Tik Tok and you can usually get into the casual gamer audience a lot faster. Plus you've got a great hook with the theme.
Keep it up!
You've nailed the Windows 95 theme, especially with your use of the Start button and Volume Control. The unlocks were also a nice addition. Whilst the gameplay feels really good, I couldn't work out how to use upgrade with currency!
Thank you for your feedback :) After the game jam is over I’ll do some work to remake the tutorial so it showcases the upgrade mechanic better :)
Honestly, what you've got so far is pretty fun! :)
No critical issues found by me atleast, will say the worm really like to get out of hand :') I spent like a whole 3 minutes on one of the waves dealing with an ever-replicating worm o-o.
A few possible things to thing about, might wanna reduce the amount of text on the tutorial, the slingshot mechanic is neat and I wonder if it would be more fun if you let the player click and drag from anywhere on the screen rather than having to click on the player*
I lost a run to clicking outside the box onto a link while slingshotting...so I'm a bit sad there too :'] ....
Overall though, great job on getting this finished! It was fun! x]
Thank you so much for your feedback :)
I’ve considered those suggestions and managed to push a small patch just before work, I’ve reduced the wall of text from the tutorial and now the slingshot mechanic will work on the whole screen :) As for the worm virus, it can be quite the doozy, before I pushed the update that included it I faced some interesting situations where the worm would spawn every 5 seconds instead of 10 and had no limit on how many times it could spawn, let’s say if I didn’t stop it, I’d have a screen filled with worms 🤣 might still need a few more nerfs later on after the jam is over.
Ooo! I appreciate you taking the time to act on my feedback so fast! <3
Sounds like the game needs me to replay it again! :]
(Also, worm OP 😂)
Love the changes! Makes it a good bit smoother! <3
Thanks amigos for putting in the effort! :] Ya did awesome!
This was interesting! Very old school feeling. I would love to see like the ability to upgrade or add some new abilities. I loved the way you did your "start" menu. That was cleaver. Good work!
Thank you, tried to replicate the Windows 95 look and feel as best as I could :) in a future version I’ll try to add some more abilities to the player so it isn’t just a slingshot mechanic :)
