How does your entry fit the theme?
My project mentions the theme in several ways, some of which I cannot say because it is a spoiler, but it also has the mechanic of finding souls using the echoes in favor.
What would you like feedback on?
Any game, especially horror which is what I like.
What assets did you use (if any)?
Some assets from Unity Asset Store and some assets I made.

Impressive, you managed to make me shiver during the climax with such a simple concept, well done! The mood was perfect and the polish on the story and the gameplay is incredible. SPOILERS I had a weird bug at the car during day 3 (motor sound) for my first playthrough, the event didn’t trigger after the dialogue (the “other” car), so I was desperately looking around the car and all around before quitting, but when I retried, the event did trigger this time. Great entry, really impressive
This game is really good, I'm shocked you were able to make it in 3 days. It was genuinely pretty creepy and I loved that once the main character started to a little crazy on day 4 you had the windows boarded up and things moved in front of them. It was a nice touch to see that the level wasnt staying exactly the same.
Also, did you use a shader to get that effect that the camera has that is making everything kind of fuzzy? it was an excellent design choice to do that and I'm curious if that's what you did, and if it is then did you find that shader somewhere or make it yourself?
Thank you so much! Actually about the visual shader, I merged an asset from the unity asset store with some modifications of my own, in this case I created my own lut pro asset and mixed it!
This entry is without a doubt one of the standout gems in the jam! Almost everything about it is near perfection or simply perfect. I can't help but adore this game!
When it comes to horror games, this is a shining example of how it should be done. Instead of relying on cheap jumpscares, the focus is on building tension, suspense, and that lingering feeling of unease. It's truly captivating and keeps you on the edge, never knowing if you're truly alone or not. The gradual descent into madness is masterfully executed. I absolutely love it!
The story, though simple, is fascinating and well-paced. I won't give away too much, but the way the game evolves and changes to reflect each passing day is incredibly immersive and exciting. And let's talk about the art style! The camera effects used create a stunning and unique visual experience. It has a retro vibe that sets it apart and adds to the overall charm. I can't praise it enough! (also curious on how you did it, I know the outline is a unity asset but that retro pixelation is really cool! I wonder how? haha)
If I were to nitpick, the Unity terrain occasionally reveals its ugly shortcomings, but the distinctive art style mostly masks any noticeable flaws. Additionally, in the final part with the police, the ability to clap did undermine the tension a bit. I couldn't help but burst into laughter, it was like the main protag was like "you got me, you win our game of hide and seek, BRAVO!". It might be worth considering implementing a script or modifying the player control to disable the clapping function specifically for that part. Other than that, this game is an absolute joy. As a horror game enthusiast, it provided a perfect short experience that never grew stale and avoided relying on cheap scare tactics with hyper-realistic blood or clichéd spooky characters. It's a truly delightful psychological horror experience. Amazing work!
Thank you very much for the feedback, I am very happy that you liked it and I will take into account all the tips and criticisms that you have made. This is without a doubt one of the best reviews I've ever seen.
As you've probably seen in other comments, I'm working on interesting updates for the game, I hope one day you'll replay with new levels and improved mechanics.
Thank you again, I will take your review for life!
Probably the most polished of all the games I've played from this jam so far. It's quite the incredible product for 3 days of work, I'm impressed!
It was a wonderful use of the "echoes" theme, I enjoyed the story and of course I absolutely loved the visuals. Undoubtedly in the top 5 games created for this jam.
---Spoilers for those yet to finish---
I really liked how you could see the state of the house deteriorate throughout the game matching the mental state of the character, the overall mood was very eerie and was great for a horror game. I do think the player experience is wildly different if you read the itch.io page or not, I imagine I would've been quite confused at first had I not read it but at the same time I almost feel that it gives too much away and takes a bit from the mystery of it all. Perhaps try wording it to be a bit more vague and mysterious rather than directly stating the whole murder scenario.
If I were to make any direct critiques I would recommend making it so the player can't clap in the final cutscene with the police because it was honestly a little goofy to have this tense moment only to be able to just start clapping randomly.
---End of spoilers---
Fantastic work though! I had a lot of fun and enjoyed what I saw. I'm excited to see what you make in the future!
Thank you very much for the feedback, I found what you said very helpful. I agree that the synopsis is too expositional, and I also think it needs to be more vague. Anyway, I am in the process of updating the project and I have great news—I am fixing some English errors (since I am Brazilian and not very familiar with the language) and I am implementing voice acting into the game. The post-jam version will have additional content, and there will also be some extra explanations of the story.
That's exciting to hear! I'll be sure to check it out when it gets updated.
This game has potential, the ambience and the shader used were so nice!
*SPOILERS*
Very very nice game, although i couldnt get past day 2, i went over to the speaking car, but nothing happened :/
I have to know how you got your game to look like this, it looks amazing. what did you do to the camera? and how did you get that cool outline?
Thanks for the rating and review! The second day, you need to clap and listen to the whispers in level, when you arrive to it, you need to interact with it using left mouse click, you'll see dialogues and the story will continue! Try to find all of them in second day and you're going to next day.
About the outlines and game visuals, yes, I'm using a shader in camera like a filter. The outlines are a free asset from unity store.
This was a short and sweet game and I enjoyed playing it.
Its very polished and that's amazing for a game jam entry. The story was a bit hard to follow but I still understood it in the end. The audio design and visuals are great. The mechanics are clever and I like how the scene slowly changes as you play, it makes for a more immersive experience. My favorite part of this game was the TV sequences. overall a very neat entry and well done!
Thank you, I'm really glad about this!
I liked the effort put in the environment, the tiny bits of narrative here and there and the clap mechanic. I'm not a fan of horror games like this because at this point they're a bit stale, but good job overall!
Thanks! I've played your game, that's a nice one! Enjoyed so much.
Took me way too long to figure out how the clap worked but damn what an experience ! The overall atmosphere was so good !
It's just a shame that you can see the ugly Unity terrain behind the few trees, maybe you could try putting the fog at the same color as the sky ?
Thanks for review and tips!
I'm agree with your observations, unity terrain is creepy hahah. The fog would really look better with sky color.
I liked the segments where the clap mechanic was utilized. It was unsettling doing the clap, and then hearing something else clap way off in the distance.
I had to play so much that I even lost my fear haha, but it's great to know that people are enjoying this mechanic! Thanks dude.
