A highlight for pickup would smooth out the couple of quirks. But you really cannot go wrong with a classic 2D platformer that anyone can play to the end in a jam like this. And that's what this is. Nice job!

That was a fun little game! Some fun platformer action. For how much you need to jump to play this game, the jump noise was a hair obnoxious towards the end, but fun nonetheless :) minor deduction of points for any game that I can't press the escape key or some other obvious button to quit. The visual style was really cool as well! I enjoyed it!
Very well done intro sequence, music sync was perfect, very stable gameplay, good looking sprites, nice music choices.
Block pickup/placement could use some tuning.
I uhh.. took longer than I'd like to admit to finish that end puzzle. The controls were mostly fine, but maybe having an outline show which object your character is gonna pick up. Quite a few times I would pick up just a totally different block I meant to. Other than that I had a fun time playing. Great work!
A pretty solid project in terms of gameplay and music. The jumping sound from the main character was annoying, although it can be seen that they worked on it. Also pleased with the level design and it was fun to solve these puzzles. Success! 👍
Appreciate the critique!
The jumping sound was kind of a joke we decided to leave in the game. It's our team mate who was frustrated by the whole experience, so he decided to disengage from the project a little, and just ended up yelling into the mic at 1 am to produce a jump sound for us lol
Thanks for the kind words! :)
Nice movie vibes on start and end titles! had some problems with controls, sometimes can't attack or pick up
cool game! i played it three times because i found that you can pick up blocks at the same time you jump, which is really fun, although probably unintended lol
hitting enemies feels a bit off, and you can soft lock yourself if you can't put down a block on the last section, but other than that the controls feel good imo
personally i liked the art, although to me the colors looked a bit washed out (i guess due to all the colors being the same saturation) which is fine, but some colors look out of place like the cyan of the buttons and doors. if you want to improve at color i'd heavily suggest using color pallets from lospec as training wheels of sorts, i used my favorite color pallet for this jam, they are quite useful!
Appreciate the feedback! :)
The pick up whilst mid-air was originally unintended, but we decided to keep it as it allowed the player new possibilities to solve the puzzles :D
I actually followed a 4 color greyscale palette that we had settled on, the buttons/doors/platforms were made by one of my team mates who simply forgot to restrict himself to this palette, I think. We didn't realise until after the submission though haha
btw love the palette you used in your game, could you share it with me? :)
Hi! Well done with your game. It is super nice to play. The music is fitting, the controller is smooth and you have a solid game mechanic through out the whole game. It is crazy that you did that in 48 hours.
Suggestions :
* The attacking feels a little unresponsive (To slow)
* add coyote jump to your movement controller (You can youtube it)
* add camera shake when something significant happens
Hope this helps you out :-) Nice game!
Hey, I noticed the slow and unresponsive attacking in the build version, but only had a couple of minutes before submission was due, so sadly I couldn't fix it in time.
Coyote time is a good idea man! Didn't even think of adding it, but it probably should be implemented in every kind of platformer :D You're right, camera shake would definitely be a nice addition, along with other particle effects, maybe even post processing :)
Thanks a lot for your feedback! :)
