I really enjoyed playing this and reminded me of doodle jump, but more fast paced. Very on theme too!

Thank you!  Doodle jump was an obvious inspiration, but I thought the time collecting would put an interesting spin on it.  Glad you thought so too!

Really well done! Excelent work!

Thank you!

Super fun to play. It took me a sec to figure out the controls, once I did I really enjoyed the game. It's a successful showcase of some fresh possibilities with orientation and accelerometer. I would have liked to have a some variation with the platforms and items / abilities. Feels like there's a lot of possibilities with a narrative. Nice work!

Glad you enjoyed your time with it!  I decided to keep it simple, and while I could have certainly added more I didn't want to scope creep myself.

This is so clever! I love the use of the vertical aspect. The time mechanic makes this game stand out from other jump games I've played. But even then this one is so fun! I couldn't put it down after I first played it! My best score was around 70,000! Very well done and really fun use of the prompt! 🕜

As soon as I thought of the time is "up" I hated myself for the pun but knew what I needed to do.  I'm glad it worked out and you enjoyed yourself!

I always like more vertical games and the accelerometer controls are nice and snappy! The centre screen timer is a good choice and the outline-only font a neat solution for the one bit screen.

Developer

Thank you!  I always love big looming timers in the background to make you feel a bit of tension.  Glad you enjoyed your experience with it.

a simple and effective idea done with pretty good care and attention to detail. The timer is placed really well and the animation curve for the movement feels really good. Choice to have accelerometer controls added to the physicality, I think. Watching the numbers go up at the same rate is also pretty satisfying. Music is pretty rad if a bit loud.

I'm glad you enjoyed it!  I wasn't sure how much time I'd have over the weekend so I picked something relatively simple to execute on, and I ended up having a lot of time for polish which I think worked out well.

I really enjoyed this. As a rule I generally dislike accelerometer controls, but this was fun and well done. Minor issue that the pause menu is awkward (upside down). The game is pretty loud, so the first thing I did was go into lower the volume, but the menu is upside down and controls don't match the visuals. It is easily resolved, but I thought I would let you know.

Hi!  I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I noticed the pause menu issue but for some reason it wouldn't let me flip the screen back in the function that runs before the game pauses, so I figured I just had to live with it.  Seems like either a bug in the SDK or it's not supported at all.

I appreciate your feedback, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Overall this is a great doodle jump clone for the playdate. It uses the playdates accelerometer and has some pretty good controls. I also like how the timer is clearly visible in the back of the screen.

Some critiques/suggestions I'd add
- add a controls guide to the pause menu or before starting the game. Just something that would say "tilt the playdate left and right".
- it would also be nice to have a list of high scores rather than just one high score. say the top 10 or 5 scores.

Thanks for playing!  It seems like you enjoyed it and I'm glad about that.  If I ever expand the game I'll certainly consider a highscore list, and a small tutorial also wouldn't go amiss.

I just thought of another suggestion could be moving platforms once you start getting a higher score. Really any classic elements to a doodle jump like game could work. Examples, springs, enemies, moving platforms.
