Cool idea! Similarly wished I had an idea of what I already picked up but once I understood I was able to get a few shopping trips in

The dialog and hints made me laugh a handful of times 😂 nice work! I was able to get a good sense of setting from the writing alone

The voiceover is so choice 😂 so much character and charm in here! The illustrations with certain combos got me giggling too

I love the attention to detail in the visuals on this one! Such a consistent vibe, especially with the little opening.

The umbrella lagging behind your crank input adds depth to the gameplay as well, had me thinking more about input than just “follow the girl”

I really, really enjoyed challenging myself to find the perfect vector for a rocket just to let it go while I fired the next one, this feels like a modern arcade classic!

The physicality of the stick worked soooo well with the crank I had a lot of fun just playing with that system. Then actually working on trying to build a bridge/tower was it’s own satisfying adventure!

Sometimes something “simple” just works

Uh, WOW. Gorgeous, so much character. The depth of the cauldron works so well and I like the accelerometer controls.

The art for the drinks themselves have such a fun style to them and I loved having to visually figure out and guess the recipe

This was adorable!! I’m always so jealous when someone can put such dense and playful work on the PD, this gave me a big smile!

Edit: the opening character zoom especially got me 😂

Idk why but seeing the mouse cursor on the PD screen made a lot of sense to me! Was fun to shred, the effects and sounds worked really well! Glad none of those seemed important 🤔

The art and vibe was immaculate, I think you nailed what you were going for. This put a big smile on my face 😄! Nice work

So many little extra touches that make this so much more than it appears to be. Thanks for reminding me reading comprehension was my lowest SAT score

Ah, image puzzles! Now this is my kinda memory game. Nicely done 😎

thanks!! this was all lua though

Hm, I just downloaded the file from itch.io and installed it on my simulator without a problem. Are you on the latest SDK?

Oh crap, no I haven’t seen that let me try and reproduce

Yeah the chamber roll was the first thing that came to mind and with another good sound effect could add a lot to the physicality

simple little arcadey shooter. having the sound effects for shooting is nice but you can out-pace the sample player which is a little awkward but of course not game breaking or anything

the art/atmosphere is great! easy to understand what to do and why

perhaps some different button press sounds for the B button or something would help spice it up and differentiate the commands more?

I am too mechanically stupid for this game and that’s a bit on me. That being said perhaps some more helpful instructions/introduction would be nice – what would I want to use a belt or a gear with 4 teeth over 6?

also definitely pushing the little CPU a bit but I liked the idea/atmosphere a lot, just wish I could intuit it better but the theme is targeting a weak spot of mine

this was really polished, I’m super impressed

the animations of the blobs and their spawning/transforming was full of character, so was the jumping sound. the background music was pleasant but not intrusive. The gameplay was (mostly) super rewarding.

One thing that bothered me was being forced to completely restart a level if I missed a jump in a later-stage of a level and couldn’t get where I needed to in time. That being said I liked having limited time per blob so I’m not sure what the best way to solve this is…just felt a little punishing to have to start over a few times on the last blob because I made myself a crappy platforming experience lol

the art is great, as are the sounds and animations to keep you aware of the obstacles. Kept me focused and had me stressed trying to manage everything in-game in a good way!

cute little pulp game with fun dialog – the storm effects stand out here!

this was a unique challenge/idea, I liked the restrictions placed on the user and the sound queues were well thought out. It’s simple but it kept me on my toes and the art was fitting fun!

funny dialog, fun little collect-em kinda pulp game :]

a simple and effective idea done with pretty good care and attention to detail. The timer is placed really well and the animation curve for the movement feels really good. Choice to have accelerometer controls added to the physicality, I think. Watching the numbers go up at the same rate is also pretty satisfying. Music is pretty rad if a bit loud.

took me a second to figure out but I enjoyed having a game with accelerometer controls! the music was bumping too and sometimes the transition from the music when needing to crank transitioned really well back into that jam

nice and simple arcade game, I like the sideways orientation and the 1:1 movement with the crank. some sound effects and reminding me of me high score at the end would really pump it up!

(I also forgot to show the player high score at the end lol whoops)

the look is so dialed in - so full feeling visually. The ticking noises of the hands as you click them is also well chosen and very satisfying

Even though the instruction was there about AM/PM I still messed that one up, adding something eye-catching for the AM/PM visual change might help with that.

definitely ripe for music if you decide to take it further!

this was beautiful, very impressed with the kind of textures and movement pulled of on the display here.

because of the nature&title of the game I assume only being able to experience the sunset once per install is intended and not a bug – but either way I like it a lot

was also confused about the tonal output of pressing the A button and I think I was able to reverse crank to prolong the sunset but I didn’t want to and now I’ll have to reinstall to try again hah. I feel like there might be more hidden in that but I could just be paranoid.

using the contentDescription as a part of the story telling reminded me of some hint fiction, that was clever!

this is so well executed, the music is excellent and the art is lovely. There’s some nicely detailed work at the end and the whole thing is really visually well balanced.

when I was following the screenshots of this one on twitter I had imagined having to use the crank to move which for some reason fits better in my head than the D-Pad. It feels more laborious to me I guess and that fits well with the joke. That’s more personal opinion, though! nice work

nice! presents a decent challenge, at least for me :] I like that there are the 3 different goals for variety of gameplay

I’m a little jealous because I have my own half-done hourglass game somewhere because it is a perfect little representation of the crank

at first I thought I would have trouble with the visuals of the dithering change rather than what I would normally expect with an hourglass but it was actually really easy – the only time I got a little confused was during REVERSE effect as I kept thinking that it meant my crank input was reversed rather then the flow of the hourglass itself. It seems that the ongoing effects sometimes target the input and other times the hourglass it might be helpful to find a visual way to differentiate those as they are popping up.

this was a fun play – having more effects happening at once is great and creates a lot of variation.

the art during the dialog scenes is fantastic!

also really liked the concept of having to collaborate with your past self a lot and thought it was extra interesting that the past version can still be “bumped” rather than having it just exist as a ghost. I feel like this idea in general could have a lot of legs

I am having a hard time not initiating the Window in the game the cursor keeps resetting idk if I’m doing something wrong…

it would be nice to have an option to “back out” of an item dialog such as this so I didn’t have to keep Examining or Looking out the Window and reading all the text before trying to move the cursor to something else

Would like to try a Playdate game, I think the crank could really lend itself to the topic at hand :] I am a developer/sound designer by nature so it would be immensely helpful to have a visual artist collab on both the idea and the art!

thanks!

hm, I think the arms should be swinging opposite the leg on the same side

edit: wait I might have only noticed that on the thief the base looks right or I’m just dumb overall sorry
