I really dont know how people beated this in one minute

Developer (2 edits)

there are many layers of hidden mechanics, and levels are made in a way that you can take MASSIVE shortcuts (some have 2 exits even)

so I can confirm those are legit times (my own personal best before I wiped the leaderboards was 1:10, now beaten by python enthusiast of HEROIC sister fame - check his game’s description… best origin story ever https://pythonenthusiast.itch.io/overcrisp )

This game had me going "Huh? How do I do this? OOOOHH!!" And those kind of a-ha moments are really great to experience in games. Love the gameplay, well done!!!

this is probably the best thing you could say to a game dev, thank you so much

much 🧊 appreciation for you

You didn't have to go this hard. Rly nice page for the game. Love the dash mechanic too 👌

The idea is really fascinating and implementation is perfect too!

This game was really cool! The mechanics were simple and easy to pick up initially but were set up in such a way that it allowed for a lot of gameplay depth. I loved how it each level seemed to be approachable from many angles. Awesome game, I wouldn't be surprised if this project wins.

thank you for the positive words, much 🧊 of appreciation to you

honestly there was a huge chunk of the dev time I thought my levels were awful, and I was too obsessed with this one mechanic and noone was going to really enjoy it

hey PythonEnthusiast… I don’t know who you are if you are in discord, so reaching out here since you’ve been into it.

I’m offering anyone in the top 10, if they can submit a recorded run to add them to the game like this:

It's amazing how much high-quality content you were able to bring to this game in that short amount of time. This is my favorite so far. The dash and jump mechanic is exciting, and the fact that you kind of need to use it more and more, as you progress through the levels, denotes a really great level design imo.

Developer(+1)

that’s extremely kind of you to say… it hits specially hard because I always struggle so much with level design

thank you so much for the kind words

here’s some 🧊 of appreciation

Really nice game, the jumps seemed pretty tricky sometimes, but that might just be my fault. I’d also like if something more was on the screen or something like that but for this short amount of time this is great! Only issue i had for a bit was that I didn’t actually realize the spots around the map would cool me down or that i needed that, I thought it was a door and tried to leave through it lol

Developer

that’s how INCREDIBLE my pixel art is… a fridge ends up looking like a door : P

chaining dashes with jumps? that's pretty cool! My time's ~11 minutes

I love the concept of using an ice cube, I think that was pretty creative. The gameplay is also fun!
