Simple and really well done mechanics. Gorgeous artstyle :)
Thanks!
I didn't quite get this. I included your game in my Pirate Jam Pre-Jam Skirmish compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)
Read the description controls! Also tinder = swipe!
Thanks for playing :)
I thought this was a cool take on the dating app mechanics. I do wish it was in full screen so I wasn't inches away from the screen. B-E-A-U-tiful art and music, very well done!
Sorry! tried to keep it in portrait mode to keep the swiping mechanic. Thanks for the comments!
The art is awesome and the Tinder mechanic is fun to play with. I'd have liked to be able to play in fullscreen so I could read the small descriptions. I think having something else to look for -appart from matching the faces- would have added a little more meat to the game, it feels a little too simple (but I know it's hard with the time constraint).
Great job nontheless!
Thanks!
We imagined this as an android app in portrait mode. Maybe wouldve been better as fullscreen.
(The words are all the same for all the posters :X. needed to save time somewhere.)
Nicely done, very well-scoped and well-completed for the length of the jam! As others have mentioned it'd be nice to either see the pirate while looking at the posters, or see them when they arrive, or to at least have a faster switch between screens.
That was a design decision to make it so you could not see them both at once.
Thanks for the comments.
I loved the artwork and the doubloons! It initially took me a while to figure out how to play, but it was actually very simple and fun to play after I understood. Congrats for submitting the game!
Thanks!
What a great job of taking the theme and running with it. Spot on, atmosphere is great as well.
Thank you!
Interesting concept, great art and presentation, but the gameplay itself needs some work, mostly in the UI department. The "switch view" button is unclear, and it feels annoying to have to switch between the two views. When a new bounty comes up, there should at least be a fraction of time to see who is behind the poster without having to switch. If it must be done, it feels like it's not really a challenge or interesting to do a rote action.
Other than that, there seems to be nothing preventing the game from getting 20 non-hits before hitting the right poster. So that's... Not great.
Other than that, I would love to see a more nuanced identity system!
Agreed on the random. Simply did sudo random for now. Didn't have enough time to make a full system to handle it.
The choice for the toggle was so that you could never see both the poster and the person at the same time. Maybe that's a wrong choice, but its what we chose to do for design.
Also agree on the fact that its hard for the user to know what to do with the buttons or if right/left swipe is what.
You baited me with the hot pirate lady but I had to make her walk the plank.
Haha. Shes an outlaw!
Really good art, is like tinder for bounty hunters.
Thats how we started with the idea :)
I agree with the other comments here: this is a really cool looking art style.
Thank you!
I couldn't get the game to work ? I can't swipe or do anything other than show the bounty?
which build were you using? And if the in browser what browser?
This is GORGEOUS! Just plain gorgeous! If I had a suggestion it would be to use the up and down arrow keys to bring up the bounty poster! It just makes it easier to play with one hand!
Fantastic work you did here!
that makes sense. I will add that once voting is over :)
Love the art! It took my a while to figure out what to do, but it's really a nice concept!
Thanks!
