Nice game ! Good core loop and music. Easy to play, and fun :)

Thank you for the kind words!

Nice game. I included your game in my Pirate Jam Pre-Jam Skirmish compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Hi Jupiter. Thanks for the video! I remember you from Gamejolt years back, but I struggled to find your channel again. Good hearing from you again.

Awesomely made! I think the progression felt great, but I'd have liked to heal myself before fighting John Slick

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah, I realized I made a booboo there at the end. The best strategy is to heal up on hour 1 as John Slick kinda just sneaks up on you.

I loved my play of this! This was a lot of fun and getting to John, seeing his health...ugh! I died, very quickly in his fight! I really enjoyed the combat, it was a great twist on the classic turn based style. I love the simplicity of the upgrades, they really make you feel good when you can land a few head shots in a row and kill the later game enemies in a matter of turns. The only thing I can add, is I wish there was a last chance to heal before you fight John. I went into the fight with only 50 something health because my reflexes sucked during the fight before him. I enjoyed the presentation of the game, the text intros, music, sounds etc, all done very well. The art is wonderful and fits very well. It doesn't feel cheap or unfair even though its very chance based. Overall well done, I think this should be expanded on even a little bit, could make a great mobile game!

Thank you for the kind words, and your feedback has been noted! Might chase the idea for a mobile game :)

Awesome bite sized game for a jam.  The combat was fun and the suspense to see John Slick was great

Wow I'm really impressed with this game. Great loop and great polish. I admit I just spammed the Health Tent after a while to get John Slick to come because I didn't think I could play for that long but really wanted to see the end. He kicked my butt of course but it was a really nice finish.

Great work, very nice!

After submitting I gave it to my brother to test and I realized the game is a bit lengthy for how simple it is, so I don't think many people saw the true ending when you defeat John Slick. Thanks for playing and for the feedback! Glad you liked it :)

The fighting mechanic gets a bit repetitive, but the game is definitely engaging! The fight scene has really great music and tension.

Whoop! Glad it had the intended effect. I'll shorten the game in the future since the combat system is too simple for such a lengthy experience. Thanks for the feedback!

Man, this one is really good! It's hard, but it's enjoyable. Not sure how long I could play it, but it's a fun distraction.

Thank you good sir!
