Really nice graphics! I included your game in my Pirate Jam Pre-Jam Skirmish compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Developer

Thanks for playing my game! And on a video no less! I know you played all the games in the skirmish, but it still means a lot to me :)

Really like the art style!

Developer

Thanks!

The controls are really nice. I just barely missed Bronze for my first time. The timed medals definitely give something to go back and play for. The only gripe I have is the background music is a pretty short loop and we're listening to it for potentially 6+ minutes.

Great work, fun submission!

Developer

Thank you! I absolutely agree about the music issue. I put the music in with about an hour left on the clock. I noticed right away that it was painfully repetitive, but I didn't have the time to come up with a better idea.

That boat is fast :D. Good work.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! It used to be faster XD

I feel like it might have been better to add swifter turning and a more complicated and smaller map to make the gameplay more fun. It would add a risk/reward to going faster more so than the current implementation.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm starting to come around on the turning thing. At first, I liked how clumsy and unforgiving it was. But now I think it would make a more fun experience if it controlled slightly better. And isn't that what it's all about

Great work. I keep having to remind myself pressing down harder on my keybord will not make me break faster.

Developer

Thank you! I still make that mistaken assumption as well

A fun treasure hunting cruise! Easy to play. I know you had a lot of exciting features planned, but found it relaxing and delightful with the current non-dangerous feature set. Congrats for submitting!

I have read you wanted to put naval battles and it would have been good to break the monotony of the game, but I understand it is a 2 days game jam and we  dont have too much time. Art could also be better, especially the islands. Despite of this you got the navegation-adventure feeling very well. I got all the treasures in 5:05 btw :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! It definitely need some monotony-breaking content. The islands are as slap-dash as they can get. But the logic was fun to create!

Tricky to grab the treasures depending on location, it could be interesting to have the treasure chests operate similar to mario coins, i.e. route you in the right direction. I think turning at high speed could have been slightly easier without sacrificing the tricky controls.

Developer

Thank you for playing! I agree that the turning should be a bit tighter. If I changed the game around a bit, I think the Mario coin idea could work. I kinda like that you have to hunt for them. But that would definitely feel better with more control

Pretty clean. It's hard to get all the treasures though on the large map

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! Yeah, the time limits are 4 minutes for gold, 5 for silver, and 6 for bronze. So it does take some time to complete.
