Another space shooter and a very different one at that! :-) I really like the look and the melee idea is surprising. Nice work!
Solid game for a jam, feels very complete. The art style also looked nice, and I loved the little alien head in the corner.
The visuals and the sounds are exceptional! The design of enemies made the grazing gameplay effective and exciting. But I had exactly the same experience as Blatnik (found the game pretty hard, was softlocked in the boss battle) and did not manage to get to the end.
Pretty hard game but has nice old school feelings and vibes. Really like the music. Good work on this one!
The music is a real banger! Really gets me pumped for an old-school space battle. Unfortunately I don’t really mesh with the mechanic. It makes me never want to use any of the weapons which makes the game pretty boring. I also found the game pretty difficult and had to drop down to easy to finish it. Then I got to the boss battle part, died, and instead of respawning with one of my lives, I got softlocked.
Was very fun once I got it, quite innovative I think. Pretty punishing to reset considering it's multiple levels long, but pretty great nonetheless. The mechanic makes firing weapons mostly useless other than bosses, but it works.
Problem for me is I think it's really unbalanced. The only way to gain %'s is to use the default attack, so once you run out, and you are surrounded by a lot of enemies it's nearly impossible to continue. I think it's cool that the % doubles down as the healthbar, but this certainly needs some work. I couldn't complete the game unfortunately. However, this is one of the most finished looking games, very nice effects, attacks, everything looks right.
You can also gain % passing near projectiles and enemies
Ah I see now, that wasn't immediately obvious. I'll give it another shot!
Thanks for the feedback!
