The look of the game is great and the atmospheric sound fits perfectly. Sadly I had some crackling in fullscreen mode on my system. Small version was fine. Didn't get to build something as I continuously dropped inside the planet. I sure will try the fixed version, but after the voting. Still, I really like this one!

The aesthetics of this game are really wonderful. The colors, pixels, music, sfx, and even the idea of being a little robot trying to get off a planet in the middle of nowhere all come together to make a really cozy experience! The game really is kind of tough, too, despite being so simple. I don’t think it’s hard to complete, but one mustn’t waste any time gathering resources. It was a bit of a surprise, building the launch pad and flying away, only to land on another planet with no idea of what I had to do, though. Thankfully, I had enough carbon and silicon collected already and only needed antimatter to finally leave the system for real, with only about 30 seconds to spare, no less.
Great game overall, I’d love to play it again if you add more levels and such.
It's amazing! I enjoyed the art, the soundscape and the story setting, and the ending audiovisuals were just epic! It's well worth my three falls into planets and one drift towards the outer space (technically a true statement, but just kidding).
For me though, I was not confident that I was doing the right thing halfway through gameplay. Probably it's just me; maybe it was the falling glitches that slightly hindered me, or maybe I myself just felt insecure in empty space. This is just FYI and I don't think it's a major setback, it's a delight to have the experience!
this is really great feedback, thanks! Yeahh, we also agree that the guidance as far as what you have to do in the game is pretty meager, and if we'd had 20 extra minutes at the end of the jam would have added a hint message to help people know what to do, but we ran out of time :P
sorry about the falling through the planet thing-- we released a fix version at https://nikki93.github.io/raylib-5k/, though we can't update the jam version. Very glad you made it to the end despite the falling glitch though, and thanks for filling us in on what felt bad/good about the game 😄
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed the game.
Re: the collision bug -- I managed to fix this issue (I think). Posted an updated version here: https://nikki93.github.io/raylib-5k/
I am so impressed with how great this plays. Very fun, looks great, just amazing!
Extremely impressive entry you guys! The music and sound effects are fantastic at setting up an ambiance. The game looks great, and the physics were very stable for me. I also like that it has a story, even if it’s not super fleshed out. And I was very impressed when the gravity changed when I jumped from one planet to another.
Good luck in the future! :)
I managed to fix this issue (I think). I posted an updated version here: https://nikki93.github.io/raylib-5k/ Let me know if you still hit the bug!
Really nice little game. I enjoyed it a lot exploring the planets and figuring out how the farming and crafting work. The graphics a also really nice. That said the gameplay feels a little simple. But that it also only because it feels like it can be a way bigger game with more farming and crafting.
Pretty enjoyable little experience - the music and sounds were spot on and I'm happy they were made in the jam! Took a couple of attempts to reach the ending - was just wondering around the first minute or so without realising I could pick up materials. Seems kinda grindy just holding left-click, picking up materials for 5 minutes, but it works better the second time around when you know what's going on and can optimise a bit.
The production itself is great though, having nice art and an actual ending is next level for a game jam!
WOW! This game is very impressive every which way! You guys did a great job.
I cannot believe this was actually made in only eight days... Making a game like this seems very challenging from a technical perspective. I am definitely going to check out the code on GitHub!
I ended up playing four different runs, and I finally beat the game on my fourth attempt with just six seconds to go (that was close)! I will say that one of my runs was cut short because I managed to clip through the ground.
This is definitely one of the marquee submissions of the game jam! It was really fun figuring everything out and finally escaping.
