really great story. and the character was lovely

Lovely visual novel, good job team. Really liked the illustrations, the use of te reo maori and the great magical realism story. Garden's ARE magic!

Thought the photos were a bit of a style clash. They would have fit together a bit nicer if they were translated into illustrations but understandable given the time limits. Also would have been nice if the music/sfx was more consistent since there are a lot of quiet parts and I felt like a little bit of audio there would have helped. The music that is there is really nice though!

The story is phenomenal! The art is absolutely beautiful.  I also really appreciate the save system that was created. Just opens a realm of endless possibilities!

  • nice illustrations but photos didn't add much
  • it could have some possible turn point if you make a "wrong" choice or info on what went wrong and what to do next time

It's a marvelous game. Beautiful art that is filled with natural ornaments, music and soundFx perfectly tuned to  the scenes and monents their are playing at. And the story overarches everything - I like just all of it!

Great narrative and beautiful images. I would consider looking at this also as a publication or children's book. Mīharo!

This is really nice.

I really enjoyed the art using maori inspired designs, it was a bit of a pity all the photos were there, im curious if that was intentional or just lack of time.

The story was nice, a little abrupt but I did like how the narrator inspired the neighbour and then the greater world through a natural, if very truncated storyline... it was like you were rushing to tell a story in a 23 minute TV episode :D

Ok i forgive you, i just went through making the wrong decisions, baller effort making two full storylines.

This is a great little jam game, other than the art issue it was well scoped, fits the theme AND you told both sides of the story.

The style is unique, I like that. Good narrative game!

This was a lovely game! The art was beautiful, the writing was strong, the sounds were relaxing and I loved the humor. Great work, had fun playing!

Edit: noting this down so I remember to come back and do a thorough playthrough with notes. Played on my phone (worked ok, test out selecting portrait mode from edit game page, with your images it should work pretty well for easier reading on phone!) but didn't take notes.

Vert beautiful art in your game.

This was a cute VN style game, i found the music comforting and it's nice that there were some otherworldly elements.
