What a fun project! I love how much research you did for the questions - you really nailed the educational spirit of the jam. The gameplay isn't much, but I think this is a great template for future projects. The slick art made this a very fun version of trivia and I liked testing what I learned in the jam!

Notes I took as I played:

very long installation

had to download a lot of extra stuff :/

music a bit too loud. Curious music choice

LOVE the art style, the spinning die is cool

font is too low res against the high res background, style is nice tho!

die roll and screen tilt is cool effect

instinct was to click the box next to answer, not the answer

nice audio feedback on answer

I like the questions, definitely feels like you learned from the jam, good way to test us all on what we also learned! Love that this is educational.

why do i need to hit space? Feels like i should just be able to click everything. have to click out of the answer window for space hit to register. Now I have to use keys to select?

flickering in background trees, view is edge of spring, umbrella in bottom right

haha i love the innertube on the kiwi for summer!

dice shadow is cutting off, half is off the bottom edge of screen

only just realized that the tiles have different themes

aww cute little autumn scarf on the birdie

santa hat not quite right for winter if this is focused on NZ, they have christmas during summer in southern hemisphere

no real effect for wrong answers

will I get more questions if I keep going? Will I run out? Will they repeat? guessing these are randomly pulled from different potential lists based on type of tile I land on. If not already done, consider using something like a master list which you use to build a current list, then do something like pop + random functions on that so it will remove the value and not repeat questions. When the current list is empty, you can recreate the entire thing using the master list. This will get you random question variety without repetition.

super cute

Yay! I'm so glad you liked the inner tube and the scarf I made, also I just realised that we celebrate Christmas at summer in NZ lol. And yes, I did think about the point you made on the effects on wrong answers, I recon it's a great idea to give them no effects because the main point of the game is to learn in a fun and interactive way. I really liked all of the points you made and I'm so glad that you enjoyed it!

Can't install via the itch app: TypeError: Cannot read property 'build' of undefined.

Developer(+1)

Regarding to the error, I have tested on the app, It works. Could you try to delete the game and re-install it or try downloading from the website, hope that helps!

It says I need microsoft visual C++ runtime and directx runtime.

Developer

This is because we used Unreal Engine which all of it's projects requires DirectX and C++ runtime. That's why you couldn't play it... :(

I love the graphics and the digital board but with a figurine look of it. Really pretty!

Loved this, fun AND educational! Great stuff  👏

The 3D graphics are beautiful! I like how the kiwi bird's accessories change with the seasons.

Developer

Great to hear that, I mad the accessories to make the game even cooler. I like your game too especially the hand drawn assets!

Graphics were very appropriate to what you were doing. I thought the choice of music was a bit odd for a farming game but overall the simple audio was fine.

I did think some of the questions were a little arbitrary, I know you don't want to be too obvious, but there were definitely a couple where I thought more than one answer was appropriate, or where the 'correct' answer was perhaps a bit basic. I see youve responded to a comment like this already and its awesome you've learned something from the project :)

Cute game, nice work! Love the presentation and board artwork. Would have been cool if the sky environment changed to reflect the different seasons too.

I like the look of it - wished the questions had more variation in the number which was right haha but still was cute and if made from scratch then it's a lot of good work in a short time!!!

Thanks for the comment! Yes, 5 days can be quite tight, especially for high school students like me who also have daytime classes :( However, during my research, I learnt that organic agriculture, regenerative farming, local agriculture and Indigenous farming have both differences and many similarities. I am happy that I have learned heaps during the process. I'll definitely improve the issues you mentioned in "Seasonscope 2.0".

This camera depth is very nice! plus points for making it on unreal.

Developer

Great! I also played your game and it's very interesting of how your game starts as a barren surface and turning into a green forest!
