Very interesting game, I like the wide range of attacks and the animations are good. In true classic-game fashion I had no idea what the difference between increasing a move's "intensity" vs "alacrity" meant, wish I had a paper instruction booklet to flip through haha. A cool proto-beat-em-up, good job

love the mix of fighter and side scrolling in the fantasy setting. reminds me of street fighter and castlevania style games.

To be honest that's one of the game that gave me one of the most authentic feels of "Games of this era". It has a lot of potential, congrats for this !

It's cool to see someone go for a classic beat-em-up style game. The execution is pretty faithful- I like all the different attacks and the fact that you can level up your individual attacks as you progress. The music is awesome and overall the game is fun to play. Nice work man :)

I see potential in mechanics of this game.

The controls are very responsible, a range atack indication is somethin i think i should have to put in my own game (seriously, it's a very good idea). The sprites are fluid and have a good number of frames to make the moves smooth.

For a 10 days game jam using the monogame, it's very impressive.

Congrats for the great job.

I agree with Jonah, there's a good potential here. It could use a little bit of polish, maybe make the enemies a little more reactive so that way we know when they were hit and dead. But other than that, yeah, make a second game loop to interact with the one you've got here (maybe some upgrades, classes, etc.) and you've got yourself a fun little game!

This game feels something like a Castlevania and an idle game mixed together. I played for quite a bit, not sure if there's a definitive end but I think there's potential here. The spacing on the attacks feels a bit strange, and my strategy was to invest in the block and quake attacks along with health. I could see something like this mixing with Loop Hero roguelite kind of mechanics to make something really addictive. My high score is here:

It installs but won't run.

Any ideas on how to get it running? The game looks interesting, I want to try it.

Thanks for the interest! I found that I didn't mark several key files (sprite fonts and map data) for inclusion in the oneclick installer publish, so I've uploaded another publish file with those files. You'd need to uninstall the old one first.

I also uploaded another zip file of the application directory that may be able to 'just run', although the installer was supposed to get any prerequisites if needed. It's my first time trying to publish an application build with Monogame/Opengl and it's been kinda a headache.
