Love the colors - it's so challenging as a single player game! I included it in my Rhythm Jam compilation video series, if you鈥檇 like to check it out!
Appreciate it a lot! Will definitely check it out :)
Great game! gameplay was really simple, which is what I like. Music was really good, and the game style kind of reminded me of beat saber, which is really awesome. Well done!
Glad you liked it! Yeah I did take inspiration from other games like beat saber and SDVX for the dark and bloomy ambience, just wanted to create that atmosphere where there's nothing else to focus on but the track :)
super fun game but the notes were a little to bright for me but i really enjoyed the music
Thanks a lot! I can see how the bloom intensity could be a bit too high for some people, I was considering adding quality settings to manage post processing quality and stuff but I didn't have enough time for that, gonna add it after the jam period
Liked the beat mapping, Got on a solid streak going which always feels really nice. Didn't get that feeling on that many of submissions. As great as that was, the musician in me was irked by the lag. Well technically not lag, it was the other way around, all the notes were earlier than the actual beat. Was very apparent on the single notes attempting to line up with the kick. Unless of course those notes were meant to be played on the upbeat. Seeing as how the animation make the track rumble or shake. I'd imagine it was meant for the kick on the down beat. Other than that, It was pretty much perfect. Good solid submission!
I gotta say I totally agree with that, in fact I myself experience a bit of audio delay with my wireless headset. I initially had found my sweet spot with a 150ms offset, but I obviously couldn't make that valid for anyone so I had to put a standard offset of 0ms that would hopefully fit for most people. I definitely would've liked to add an option to change the audio offset, but I unfortunately didn't make it in time. Still glad you enjoyed it!
wayyy to much bloom and it makes the incoming notes blurry
That was kinda the purpose there, making it just a bit harder to see incoming notes and make them more clear as they approach. Though I don't deny that I may have overgone a bit with the intensity
This is my favorite game from this jam I've played so far! The only thing I'd like to see is an easier first-song choice. I am not a frequent rhythm game player and I found even the easiest song I was struggling with, I still had fun while struggling though! This was while playing by myself however and after reading the description it seems like it might be 2 player game. If so I am sure I'd have a much easier time!
Oh no it's not actually a two player game, though I guess you could play it in two people if you wanted; sorry for the misleading description. I agree with the fact that I wasn't really able to balance the difficulty for non experienced players lol, but I'm glad you still enjoyed it!
Despite the bugs and the lack of a tutorial this game is pretty solid for one person.
Here's the bug i found and how to replicate it
Press "esc" twice rapidly to make the pause menu stuck in the screen without functionality. This also makes it so that you can't open the pause menu again.
Oh shoot I totally missed that, I completely rushed the menus in the last minutes before the deadline so I expected something to break there, but thanks for reporting, I'll fix that
This is such a good and crisp feeling version of a classic mania rhythm game, one of my fav submissions so far, great job!
Thanks a lot! Glad you liked it :)
Really nice flow and feeling in the game. Best game so far at following the beat and making it feel like im playing the song!
Woah thanks a lot! Feeling the beat was my main focus in this game, glad it came out well :)
WARNING: there's a bug where if you play a song and then go back to the main menu, you will play that song again no matter which one you select. To go around this close and reopen the game.
Edit: the in-game UI (like score and judgements) may not show up. This happens under yet unknown circumstances, but shouldn't occurr for most people
a tutorial wouldve helped a great deal considering the non-typical control scheme, but I think the idea is quite unique and was done well, this game was really fun and the music was amazing
Glad you liked it! I did have the idea of making a tutorial or at least adding a reference for the keybindings, but I unfortunately couldn't make it in time. I simply used the typical DFJK layout which most mania rhythm games use so I hoped to keep it simple there but a tutorial would've helped
