Title
Kings' Elegy
Description
Wanted to practice orchestration with this jam, since i haven't done much of this kind of music. This started as a solo project where i made the base of the piece myself, but a friend wanted to test some stuff and this ended up as a collaboration with him (link to his youtube is in the video description). I got a a sort of Main Menu vibe from the picture, so i imagined this to be in a main menu/intro Cinematic.
The whole thing was made in Sibelius notation software and the sounds were from the Noteperformer sound engine (this is a gamechanger if you like working with notation, the sound is GREAT).
I tried to use lots of triplets in the parts and had some parts quintuplets chugging along in the bass.
Plugins used
Noteperformer by Wallander Instruments.

wow this is so lovely to listen to, you did a great job! I can't imagine composing in notation software, I really respect you for that!
Mixing is bit on the quiet end, could have made it more epic by really getting close to the limit at the end, but other than that it was great.
Also, you should look into Musescore 4 as it's also a notation software with great sounds (especially after installing their musesounds extension) and it's completely free (and has VST3 support)!
Thanks! I've used musescore quite a bit, but musescore 4/musesounds doesn't run that well on my pc (at least the first releases)
Amazing orchestral composition
This is a really nice song! A full sheet music orchestral composition is definitely interesting to see!
Thanks! Mostly made this in notation because my computer is pretty old and cant handle too many orchestral samples at once (noteperformer takes almost no resources).
Pretty cool idea making it all from Sibelius, Probably wouldn't have thought aboutsomething like that myself
Did you do anything with the mix or is it all NotePerformer?
If this is only gain stagint his sounds AMAZING for a program!
I liked the composition, very nice
I also need to work on orhcastration but I figure learning proper music theory first would be benificial :*)
Thanks! The sound is just Noteperformer "out of the box", absolutely a game changer for how good it sounds without needing to fiddle with CC automation .
Lots of action mixed with a somewhat somber undertone—you and your friend did a great job on the composition of this piece! The little section from 0:58-1:09 was my favorite part :)
Thanks, glad you liked it!
