Fishing mechanic was different but the mouse cursors reaction time made it hard to enjoy. Need to make all the UI, Environment and other assets feel right together. the menus did all work and I didn't notice any bugs.
This has one of the more complex fishing mechanics, which is good. Unfortunately I share the frustration that others have pointed out. Maybe if the "cursor" was a bit more reactive (or interpolate faster) it would've been easier to catch.
Loved the engine sound, though it took me a while to realize how you probably did those. =)
Neat overall and I like the idea behind the fishing minigame. I think it needed to cook a little more as I ended up frustrated by it more than anything. The target fish moves too quickly and erratically to feel like a fair challenge. While I was able to catch all 6 fish I hooked, it came down to the wire (3S or less) and did not feel like it was my fault or like skill could overcome the challenge. It was just too unpredictable and erratic. Perhaps if it were to pause longer after a longer move to allow the player time to even reach it before it moves again, or turning it instead into a contestant speed movement without the sudden high speed movements
The rest is really nicely done and I like Benchy and the motorboat sounds. Clever use of what's available.
Ya, I was really worried that the fish would be moving too quickly. I actually slowed it down but I don't feel like it was enough, I totally agree there should def be a delay. Do you get a chance to listen to the radio?
Also I love Benchy he made a perfect boat.
I did. It was a nice touch 🍻
Very well looking graphics and great atmosphere. Loved the hand written notes. Sadly I couldn't find out how to catch the fishes, I mean I casted the line then waited for the fish but didn't figure out how to tell if it's time to catch it.
For me, personally, the pause menu felt a bit not blending with the overall atmosphere of the game.
The game itself was running slow for me, so I turned on the radio and started listening to it, and I liked it :D Some more polishing and it will look great.
Thank you. You cast the line near some fish and just kinda chill until you hear an audio cue. There are little fish pools around the map that you can essentially fish up and us those fish to get upgrades at the shop to make it faster. As for the UI I agree I wish i had more time to make it a little more atmospheric. Also if youre having issues with fps i would recommend scaling the game down a bit it should be in the options menu (if that doesnt work I apologize). Thank you for taking the time to write out the comment <3.
Edit: I really needed to build a decent tutorial lol.
Oh I see. My bad :D. I got to the stage when you spam a random button and got to the fish radar but the mouse wasn't responsive enough and the fish was always faster, so I couldn't hold the cube on it for long enough, should I have held some buttons too to imprison the fish inside? The graphics options work (I saw how the fog was reduced), but even on the low option, it wasn't much faster Idk why.
Ya, it looks like the fish radar has a couple of issues with it. If you can believe it thats all happening in the world space instead of a widget. So i think the cube malfunctioning might have something to do with collision maybe? As for the graphics options, I think i just went a little too hard on the looks of the game lol.
For the fishing game you just hover the block over the fish until the bar reaches the top. Although I think the minigame might need some more work to get it tuned in right.
It's very gpu intensive.
Ya, I found that out when testing on my buddies computer.
