I liked running around and jumping it was pretty freeing. However, I'm unsure how the game relates to the theme.

Hi there. Well done on getting a game submitted. What I loved about this game was the art style and concept. What I did not like was the missing features for a normal platformer. Maybe some more depth to the game. Also, I don't know if it was intensional but the gravity of the player feel super low.

Very cool art style. Really enjoyed the music and SFX!

Doesn't seem like you can die. The health bar was fully depleted and could still continue. Also didn't realise I was getting hurt at first. Some feedback noise/animation to let you know you're being damaged would help.

Cute little platform-gunner!

As I’m sure is mentioned by everyone else, I’m not too sure how this relates to the theme, and it naturally lacks any motivation to keep playing without any death or success states or conditions.

It would be nice to reduce how efficient a single kill is at replenishing your health/hunger, as one kill fills it completely.

Keep it up!🐓

This is an interesting base for something - the level design was pretty good - I just don't see how it relates to the theme.

I really disliked having to jump with space since I was shooting with X but I unexpectedly got used to it and then found the character control to be really smooth (except for the fact that you run at the same speed as the bullets).

I don't have any complaints about the audio - I thought it suited the style of game perfectly.

There's not much else I can say that hasn't already been covered by others. I think you could make a good platformer with this if you wanted to.

We played your game and had fun!

Initially, I found the controls to be slightly unintuitive at first but once I got the hang of it, it was quite calming and satisfying to run around play in the map. The character control was smooth and the double jump mechanic was a delightful way to explore the map.  Unfortunately due to the time limitations of the jam, the gameplay lacks a challenge element, and could use a sort of timer or score mechanic. Nevertheless,  a cute little game made, well done!

This is a neat concept, and quite cute! Hunger is most certainly one of my primary needs, and you made good choices with the assets. The art and music combine really well!

I... I fear for our lives though once these chickens learn from the ones in Legend of Zelda... no one... no one will be safe...

Cool little game well done :)

Nice little game, the controls are very smooth and control well, jump sound gets a little bit annoying after a while, but other than that its a enjoyable core game loop that has potential to be really fun. Also would be nice if you lost if your hunger bar reached zero.

Yeah sadly I didn’t get to the death state. Will look into what I can do for the jump sound, it’s also a bit loud in hindsight. Wish I could play your game but I can sadly only do browser games at the moment :(

This was a cute little game. The level design was pretty well done, and for the most part the character felt pretty good to control (though a bit floaty on the jumps).

As for the primary gameplay loop, I imagine it's not fully implemented as you intended, since you don't lose if the hunger bar depletes. I will say that there isn't really a requirement for you to go and walk around, since the chickens respawn fairly quickly. Having some kind of system to avoid that (even as simple as not respawning any chickens in an adjacent area) would have been helpful in pushing players to keep moving. Better yet, if there was an end goal, and no respawning of chickens, it would in itself act as a bit of a timer.

Thanks for the feedback, in rushing to finish I didn’t get to the balancing of timing the hunger with chicken respawns. I do like the idea of not having any respawn and see how long you can survive. Thanks again for the detailed feedback

Cute game, like the art style, sound effects and music. A game you can built on further.

Love the name LoL!! Wish I could play it but I’m sadly limited to browsers games only. Hope your game does well :)

Thank you very much! 😁

Had a bit of a run around in this one. The character controls feel really good. The character is nice and responsive and it only took me a couple of seconds to have movement be intuitive. I also like the art style. I especially liked how the grounding tiles for the water changed colour from the regular tiles and the little turn animation.

Thanks so much for playing my attempt at a game and your feedback. Sadly I can’t install games on this PC and can only play browser games so I can’t try out Stolen Haven. But I hope your game was received well and you had a good time making it :)

Cute music and cute visuals, just not sure how it fit the theme.
