Quick stream of this tonight so I could get through as many games as I could
Game is very similar to the one we published, different attack positions. Seems good for the first level, a shame some things broke for the next two, keep going on future jams!
Hey thanks for playing my game on your stream! I played, rated and commented on your game, i really liked it. Good luck on your future projects too!
Unfortunately couldn't get very far in this game but it has some nice ideas!
Thx for playing. You can try the post jam build. I fixed the freezing issue in the second level
I had high hopes with the aesthetics, then I played it and some of the stuff just broke. And it became unplayable after round 1. The game is a hack and slash. Honestly, considering I've played so many of them in this jam I might consider docking originality because of it being mostly slash your way to victory. Mine has that too, though its genre and style is different. I won't really dock this down too much, clearly you know its still in development phase and you wanted something out quick for the public to see. But that's gonna come at the cost of brutal feedback sometimes, if not from me, probably from others too.
I get that this is still in really really rough alpha so I won't judge it too harshly. But yeah. This feels like it still needs work.
Thanks very much for playing my game. Yes, the game is very rough in this current state. I couldn't fix those issues and complete the game into the state i desired withing time limit of the jam. I fixed the issue which the screen freezes in the second duel. I fixed some issues and add a soul sacrifice mechanic in which you increase your health, damage or speed by sacrificing one of them. I uploaded the updated version in the game site you can check the. The latest one is called Immortal Blade. I appreciate you valuable feedback
Very cool with all different mechanics compact in the W A S D zone of the keyboard. Intuitive but a little bit hard to read the incoming attacks.
Thx for playing. I tried to telegraph the attacks with a warning mechanic for that but i think it needs some fine tuning
Interesting idea, I like the duel theme. Beautiful pixel art, where did you get the assets from? Particularly the pagoda/castle scene is awesome! Not bad considering you switched from 3d to 2d halfway through. Great idea with the parry system, I really like weapons games that consider the blocking and parrying and it is a particularly good choice here.
Thx for playing my game. I got the characters from Itch.io. Backgrounds are A.I generated.
Neat game. A bit cumbersome with the controls being all over the keyboard. Makes it a little difficult to learn the game.
Thx a bunch for playing it. You're right i also thought about adding gamepad controls but then ditch the idea for the sake of focusing on the more crucial aspects of the game. I'll include that in the future builds. Some kind of tutorial could be nice too. Like you fight against a dummy or something and controls are prompted on screen
Cool game, I wish there was a tutorial that would help you learn the stance/parry system, since smashing the attacks kinda lets you win the duels too. Well done!
Thx for the comment. Yeah tutorial is a good idea, i might add that to the game
I like the stance style approach and the sound choices. Unfortunately it freezes at the start of the second stage every time I play.
Thx a lot for playing! I forgot to disable the win screen before taking the build. I uploaded the fixed version on the game page. I'm still trying to fix the game and complete it. I lost a lot of time on the designing phase, i wanted to make a 3d game first then change to 2d halfway through.
I know how that feels! Nice work on pivoting your design and getting it submitted!
