This was super fun and unique. Great job!

Thank you, I appreciate it! I had a great time playing Cropolution as well!

That was really fun! I liked that you queued up input for the grid movement, felt super appropriate for a movement system like this and it made it really responsive. The graphics were great, sound was great, gameplay was great. Just wish it went on for a bit longer!

P.S. I LOVED the summersaults (and the fact that Alex would stay standing on his head) - it was hilarious, but also made the movement more fun.

Developer

Happy to hear you enjoyed it! I used an unlimited 'jump queue buffer,' inspired by what I believe they did in Crossy Road. Also, summersaults  should definitely be mandatory in every game! :) Thanks again for hosting the event, I had a great time!

This was pretty fun! The movement felt very responsive. I liked the way you needed to trick the predators to beat them. This is the first game I've played this jam which took the theme and actually went through the real animal evolution from millions of years ago to this day. Alex should be a gymnast with that speed and consistency of somersaults.

Constructive feedback:

- I wish I didn't need a mouse to reply since the game is played with only keyboard.

- The tigers and crocodiles could've had a bigger difference in their attack patterns to bring more variety.

Thank you for playing and also nice feedback! Yeah I ran out of time the last day lol, so tigers and crocodiles are pretty much the same attack patterns.

I played your game on stream if you'd like to see my thoughts:

I had a lot of fun playing this game!! :D the movement was so satisfying, and animals flopping on their backs was so cute as well!

Side note - THANK YOU for saving the progress between periods of time!!!

Great game overall.

Thank you, really appreciate it! Yeah, saving the progress was a last-minute fix, it would have been too punishing otherwise. I had a great time playing your game as well, the art style is so damn good!

Good, good, good. Everything was spot on sound, movement, the side profile lol. The crazy thing is, just looking at the screenshots I probably wouldn't have played this. Did you use the full week to make this?

Developer

Thank you for feedback! I guess the screenshots would have needed a bit more work. I spent like 4 days on it, but the last two days where crazy crunch with almost no sleep :)
