If you have implemented the modifier, how have you done so?
I implemented the Excessive Sound Design. The footstep noises of the enemies are the focus of that.

This was some SBIG goodness, I loved it!
The graphics are perfectly janky, the cartoony sound effects are great and they make bonking enemies really satisfying! I do think they could be a bit more excessive though, but still very good stuff.
I like the game doesn't overstay its welcome, for what's here there's enough variety to keep it going. IRL stuff happening during the jam is understandable so it's good you managed to submit. There are some neat ideas implemented like having to collect multiple items to restore hit points, and I only managed to get the powerup damage once but it was a fun little mechanic!
Excellent work!
I can immediately tell this is an instant-classic SBIG Jam entry at a glance. The art style, sound design, and overall jankiness hit the perfect notes.
Honestly, I think the length and complexity is perfect as-is. It sticks around long enough to be a good bit of fun but not so long that it starts to drag on, and the difficulty hits a solid balance of having some challenge and tension but not devolving into a tedious chore.
I think my one criticism is that the modifier implementation feels weak to me. I see what the intent is, and while it's certainly extensive, it doesn't really cross into excessive territory in my mind.
Really fun game! It kinda has the feeling of a game that looks very janky but is actually very polished behind the scenes 🤔
The gameplay is fairly simple but quite satisfying. I really like the art and honestly it just feels good to bonk.
On a slightly unrelated note, when I first saw this listing I thought it was a sequel to Big Bonkers from last year, but actually looking at the author it doesn't seem to be the case 😅 Maybe it's just a massive co-incidence that we've had 2 games with "Bonkers" in the name featuring a drawing of a guy with angry-looking eyebrows hitting someone on the cover 😂
I guess the idea of bonking is a common idea when it comes to making a game that is so bad it’s good. Very interesting.
I adore how aggressively bad (but like in a good way) this game is. It just revels in its terribleness and it’s truly something to behold. Bravo!
Bonk action was really satisfying to use as the main mechanic. Thought you could go even more wild with the sound design. Liked the artstyle as well!
Bonk, bonk bonk bonk! (This game is really simple, yet surprisingly satisfying!)
Bonk bonk bonk. Bonk bonk. (My favorite part is where you bonk the enemies out of their existence.)
goodbye gobys >:)) good game !! I love the explosion image when the player dies lol
Thanks for playing! I wanted it to be animated, but I encountered a glitch in the build that prevented that. So I just went with a static image. I think it ended up being funnier though!
This genuinely belongs in an arcade! The gameplay reminded me of Dig Dug in the moments where you're surrounded and have to stun one enemy to finish off another!
Haha, thanks for playing! I was sort of inspired by dig dug 2. If I had more time, I would have implemented a score system.
