If you have implemented the modifier, how have you done so?
It's basically Rhythm Heaven but with too many audio cues. Also, most sound effects are made with my mouth, and 2 of the songs are made by this random dude called SilvaGunner.
Any additional information for voters?
i have no time to improve graphics. sorry for ur eyes ^u^

Haha this was amazing!
Trying to both remember the orders and play them back back was indeed a massive challenge! The rapper character was nicely designed, and I did like the models for the different ingredients.
As soon as I saw SilvaGunner's name mentioned in the credits, I knew what I was in for music wise 😂 The first level started off difficult though I managed to pass, but the second level was instantly too much for me and I very much got fired 😥
By the third level I decided just to give everyone glasses of milk. Milk is what the people want right!?! I know best!
This was a really cool concept, and I really enjoyed it despite the difficulty! A great SBIGJam entry! Well done!
I like the concept, but I agree with the other comments saying there's too many ingredients coming too fast. And sometimes it was hard to discern ingredients apart by name.
On ths positives side, I like the little robot rapper, and the music was pretty good. I also think the graphics are perfectly fitting for a SBIG game!
It gets too chaotic too quickly, but it was still pretty fun. Good work!
It's a neat concept, but I forgot what was what within about ten seconds of actually starting. I think the first level really needed fewer ingredients, maybe even just two or three, at least for me.
Noted. Will only put 3 ingredients in the first level if I ever made it into a full game.
Really fun and original concept. For me it was a bit hard to hear the ingredient "vocals" over the background beats/soundtrack so I failed quite a few attempts due to that. Didn't manage to try it with headphones tho, might be less of an issue that way. Congratz on the submission!
Great game concept you have here. Controls were a bit of an issue (probably would have been worth using some keyboard controls, like in Cook Serve Delicious, because the flailing around with the mouse didn’t feel very good), and there is an issue where running out of time with one drink will inevitably cause the following drink to end in failure as well (after all, if you barely miss the window for an ingredient for drink #1, that ingredient would end up in drink #2, thereby causing drink #2 to also be incorrect).
The latter issue probably would require a rather large overhaul of the gameplay and musical content in order to be addressed - seeing as the main way to fix it would be to make the audio more of a ‘call and response’ prompt (no cup whilst ingredients are being rapped, then given the cup to put the ingredients in, then cup is removed before the next rap) instead of the ‘uhh try to put the ingredients into the cup at some point’ gameplay which levels 2 and 3 felt like they devolved into (a consequence of those audio tracks not really lending themselves to that gameplay structure).
Still, nitpicks aside, pretty good game you have here.
...yeah I really should have just lean my game into the realm of Friday Night Funkin more.
All the issues you've mentioned had been encountered by me when I was playtesting, but I was kinds too
lazylate to make any big changes so...cute rapper guy liked the sounds so
I'm a non-native engish speaker so it's kind of hard to understand what is what otherwise it was pretty good!
Boba? Beats? A lil rapping robot with drip for days? What’s not to like? Fr a very fun take on the rhythm genre. Nicely done!
i can tell straight up when someone loves rhythm heaven / warioware and it makes me very happy!! its complete and works and is a fun and silly idea for a microgame! great stuff
Fun Fact: Rhythm Heaven was not actually in my original concept.
My original concept came to me in my dream, where I was controlling a large panel with various buttons and sliders.
The idea of making it Rhythm-Heaven-like came when I was thinking for a good way to give the player instructions. Visual cues would be very difficult to follow when there are a bunch of buttons to press. I also didn't want to directly put indicators on each button since I want to make the player feel like they are actually doing some kind of job. Therefore, it was clear that the best way to give the player instructions is through audio cues, Rhythm Heaven style.
(And yes there were actually different button types and sliders in my original concept and you actually need to use them on the correct beat, but since it was my first time making a rhythm game, I decided to go easy and make every possible interaction a combination of single-press buttons.)
Absolute chaos i love it! This is a refreshing ( (; ) take on a rhythm-ish game although it was really hard to know what the ingredients were and the second level was so fast I couldn't click on the items quick enough. Still love it though
Pro Tip:
Play the game within a smaller window to bring the buttons closer to each otherAlso before the song start, you can click on each ingredient to have glgrd tell you how he'd pronounce their names. (I remember that he did mentioned it in Day 1 but it may not be clear enough.)
I did have him pronounce stuff but all the sounds were jibberish to me lol maybe if I played a bit longer I would understand his language
to be fair, rapping is all gibberish, anyway 🥴
I can say this game is complete torture for people who's native language is russian. I literally cant understand anything except "tea" and "juice" (If you think about it, this is skill issue), but staring at cup while "Your best nightmare" playing is very fun. I think you should add difficulty slider which slows down sfx.
yeah that's actually one of my biggest concern since half-way through the production. In fact, I have tried different sound cues and also made the beat patterns many times simpler throughout the production, but I just don't have enough time and will to fine tune it until it is actually good 😔😪
uhhh is it bad if I can't properly hear what the co-worker's saying
cool game eitherway would play again
glgrd didn't pronounce properly because English wasn't his native language.
Guess what his native language is
Wow, fantastic game! Charming, chaotic, hilarious, and intensely stressful all at once. Loved the sound design and the beats.
Also, I wanna be glgrd when I grow up.
Nah you can't be glgrd when you grow up because there can only be one glgrd.
Don't dream to become someone else. Dream to be a unique yourself.
Fun sounds. Fired but it was good while it lasted!
Very fun! Love the music choices lmao and my very goofy coworker. Pretty much exactly how it feels to work in hospitality.
nice game! good sound effects :) Liked the little guy
Really funny sounds! It gets chaotic pretty quickly, but I thought it was fun!
Thanks! I was worrying that it might not be as funny as I expected.
Also, how do you think about this little dude?
It's a neat design! Although I can't quite tell what the green part is meant to be
I updated my profile to include some information about this little dude.
Basically, he is a trash compactor with legs.
