Very cool music, and I like the graphics too!

Worked well enough on linux using wine with some minor graphical bugs.

Developer

wow good to know, had no idea if it would work on Linux or not.

Thanks for the feedback!

Simply nice graphics, I like the graduation of difficulty. Nice!

Developer

Thank you!!

Interesting game. I couldn't figure out how to play though. I think that's just me though.

Developer

I'm really sorry to hear that.  Did you find the how to play section in the main menu confusing?

Submitted(+1)

Yeah, I don't know maybe I was just bad. Cool game though!

Submitted(+1)

This is a very interesting game. I like the music and the visuals.  The controls can be improved I think.

Overall, it is a very good submission. Keep it up!

Developer

Thank you so much!  Really should've added a rebind option seems to be the most common complaint xd

Glad you enjoyed it though, thank you!

this is an awesome submission. the game play is very dynamic. I got 865 on my first attempt which i think is pretty decent XD

Developer

Ye that's very good for a 1st try well done!

Thanks a lot for playing!!!

Thank you very much for doing a good tutorial. I liked the music and the blur effect on myself and my enemies. The game was pretty engaging and I think you did a fantastic job.

Developer

Happy to hear the tutorial worked well!  really trying to get good at UI design so sounds like it went well!

The concept is very unique and interesting. It works well with the theme. Also, the minimalistic art style and sound design are great. Good job!

Developer

Thanks so much! :D

Not sure why R isn't Red, color changing is kinda confusing. :D
Interesting concept, cool neon-like graphics, should have some feedback when getting damaged closer to player.

Found the bug, standing on the walls(really easy on the edges) makes turrets do nothing.

Developer

Reason 'R' isn't red was because originally the colours were meant to represent elements, so Red = fire so I bound it to f.  It was gonna be Earth, Fire, Water, Air but brown for earth didn't glow as much as the other colours so I made it yellow instead for electricity.

Also, the reason for that bug is I'm guessing I've misplaced the out of bounds trigger a bit on that wall there, projectiles can't walk through the walls but the player can, so I guess if u sit inside the wall ur kinda fine there.  Players can go out of bounds but they will take dmg, I did this so you can't get corner trapped and feel cheated.

Thanks for the feedback though, very helpful!

Very unique and intersting concept, the minimalist art fits great with the game too, the only thing I think you need to improve is the key mapping, I would have played a lot more if you made the power-ups clickable mouse buttons, and the change color the mouse scroll or just one key that swaps across all colors for example, but overall a really good job!

Developer

Ye I really think my main issue with this game was not having re-bindable keys xd  Never made them before but for my next project, I'll defo try to add them.  Thanks for the feedback though!

This might be the first game in this jam that I spent too much time on. It's very fun. I love the strategy element of changing colors while dodging bullets.

Developer

Thank you so much, what a lovely piece of feedback <3

Awesome game! Loved the mechanics and audio. Congrats on your first game jam game!! Hope you do many more!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!

Ye I really enjoyed this jam and I do plan to do more!  Great way to improve and I heavily encourage others to try em if they haven't.  + it's really nice to make something that's all me, uni forces me to use a lot of their framework stuff when making games which can get a bit annoying sometimes.

Submitted(+1)

Thats true, All the bestt!!

Really liked the concept. Controls are slightly confusing, but even adding an option for custom key mapping would probably fix that. Also I think there might be a glitch where moving with the right arrow key always sets your color to red. Still a very fun game though!

Developer

Never noticed that using the right arrow key turns the player red, how bizarre.

Happy to hear you enjoyed the game though!

I really like the idea of a bullet-hell/puzzle mashup, but I didn't find the controls for the powerups and the color-change very intuitive. Also, as someone already suggested, adding elements progressively would be very beneficial given the concepts of the game, but still, the idea is cool, as much as the elegant neon visuals. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback!

i'm gonna have to agree here.  Even when making and playtesting this game I consistently pressed the wrong buttons for colours.  I had the idea to do a weapon wheel type of thing where the game would slow down and you could select a new colour but this was way too late into the jam at this point.

Submitted(+1)

I think that even the weapon wheel would have not been the right choice for this kind of game, it would have not suited the frantic action well in my opinion. I would have just went for a set of 4 contiguous buttons for the colors and 3 continguos ones under or over the first 4 for the powerups

Submitted(+1)

Very Fun, love when it gets intense and it becomes a puzzle of where to place yourself and when to change colors! The music and sfx was also very pleasant and made the entire game feel more intense :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for the kind words!

Personally, my fav part of the game is when it becomes more of a puzzle trying to figure out how to take out the turrets and not get hit.

Submitted(+1)

Really Cool Game. I would like a much faster speed from the start. until 5 Minutes its kinda boring before it start getting really intense.

I like it.

The Bloom in the Menu is to high i think :p

Developer(+1)

it does feel as if every unity developer has a phase of discovering post effects and cranking bloom to the max haha.

Ideally maybe adding 2 game modes would have been a good idea, like a normal mode and hard mode.

Thanks for the feedback though! it's much appreciated!

Submitted(+1)

very interesting game! But it is quite confusing with the different colors at the same time! Maybe start with one or two and add the others later in the game!

Developer

I agree, an actual tutorial would be ideal!

when I was making the "how to play" section in the menu I found it quite hard to explain how everything works.

Thanks for the feedback!
