Ik i promised quite a few times the fixed version would be out on friday...but every time i fix one thing, another thing seems to break horribly
Really enjoyed the atmosphere of the game -- reminds me of Binding of Isaac! I got the game over screen once and it stuck in there, but the game looks promising! Nice work!
this friday most bugs will be fixed, mainly the game breaking ones, and im glad it reminded you of binding of isaac cause its inspireded by it
I like the way the character moves and how movement feels. It could be a pretty fun roguelite but after killing one rat nothing else seemed to spawn!
im glad you think the movement feels nice, i spent a lot of time on it. This friday all game breaking bugs should be fixed like not being able to play again once dying, waves not working, and dying on one hit
Hooray! Remind me when you do I'll check it out and comment!
will do
yo, update is here
I'll check it out in a bit <3
a fixed version of this game will be released this friday. I cannot release it any sooner due to the rules of the game jam.
A few glitches sadly, but still enjoyable to play when it works! Definitely would like to see more of an upgraded version! Also the character's animation was just perfect hahah
ty...also do people not read the comment i posted? Im updating it this friday, cause i cant upload a new file while the jam is still happening
Oh no sorry if i worded it wrong, I saw the comment but i was saying that I wanna see the upgraded version when it comes!
ah, ok. Hope you can properly enjoy the game once the update comes along!
I like the art style. The gameplay feels good but very challenging. Crazy and unfortunate for you that construct's web builds seem to reload the exact game state when reloading the page... Opening the game in a new incognito tab allows to start a new game but sadly the time it takes from starting it to getting into the game is quite long.
Anyway good job and definitely some potential here!
not construct 3, just me being dumb, will be fixed by friday
The theme isnt there but thats okey, features i think the game need, a fullscreen button and i dont think that enemies should have Iframes after hitting them, also if i know that you know about the bugs but i found one that if you spam click the begin wave button you can spawn like 10 waves at one time, you have a good base here for a cool game, keep the good work, and dont feel bad for the bugs, this is your first game in itchio if im correct and you made something that can become good with more time, 3 days is too short of a time for most games
Ik about all the bugs, lol. Yeah ik i messed up with the theme, but im still happy I got something out of it. once game jam over i can release the update where most bugs are fixed
Yeah you did a great job, dont feel bad for the bugs, instead feel proud of everything you manage to do in just 3 days, its no small feat
ty, if you can, please check back friday, I think i can post an update by the. so far the Rat animations are fixed, Spider King enemy works, and the wave system works, and you can go back to the main menu and start another run. But i cant upload it until the jam is over to prevent cheating I guess
for all those who played the game, I appalogize for how much of a buggy mess it is, Im trying to fix everything, hopefully by the end of this week I can release an update fixing most of the problems
its okay to have bugs! at least enough is working for us to try it out and see what its about!
Not sure I feel like I'm escaping but controls feel quite nice though :>
yeah, the theme kinda...*escaped* me, hehehehehe
My best score: 5
Gameplay: 3
I got mauled by a rat 5 seconds in, cant go back to main menu and reloading the game just takes me back to getting mauled. This is beatiful but sadly i didnt get to experience the game much:D
Theme: 3
As i said i played for 5 secs but from what i saw i assumed it was a survival game in a basement where you can buy upgrades. So not really escaping, but i cant tell lol
Aesthetics: 4
Artstyle looks original and nice
Sound: 5
If that music was made specifically for this jam, props to whoever made that, it slaps:)
It would probably have been very good if it wasnt broken, keep up the good work! What matters is the journey, not where you end up:)
first game jam so sorry :\ very buggy, thanks for what you said about my art (: and check out matheuscomposer, he made the music and sound effects for this game, he did an amazing job
Simple but solid, i liked a lot the art and feel :)
ty, hopefully by the end of this week, the enemy waves should be fixed, and maybe even a working shop :0
I would love for name suggestions, because I currently have 0, thats why its a generic one
it takes a long time to get into the game but i liked it :)
yo, YOU MADE MOONLANDER, I LOVED THAT SUMBISSION, idk how you got such a polished game out of just 3 days!?
I laughed a lot when I clicked on settings and then I read the tooltip that said "there's not actually any settings", lol.
I absolutely love the aesthetic and the music. Presentation wise, this game feels very coherent and charming.
Obviously some stuff is not finished, which I get is because of time constraints, but it would be cool to see something added to the shop, as well as different enemies and maybe more mechanics for the player to interact with.
Game design wise, (just my opinion!) it might also make sense to remove the i-frames the enemies seem to have, or make it enemy-specific. I feel like it makes sense for the player to have that so that they can come back from a bad hit, but it just feels a bit annoying on enemies because they can't actually do anything while they're invincible, so they're just kind of waiting for you to get another shot off. It makes the game a bit slower and less exciting. Another option would be to make specific enemies that can use these i-frames to do something like reposition or run faster at you, or something like that.
The start screen also takes a while to load up the buttons, which I thought meant the game was bugged. I almost closed the game then!
I hope you keep working on this game, it's a cool idea!
thanks for the ideas, and yes a lot of bugs, but i felt defeated this morning, so I lazily rushed out the build. I plan on continueing the game, with the same composer, and finish the plan for the shop, trading hearts for items, and new enemies, so please check in on this page every week, cause I plan on releasing an update next week
and also when i changed the file to HTML, something weird happened to all the sizes, so the black screen got shoved off camera, usually theres an intro and a fading effect
