Thank you for playing. Sadly we weren't really finish it like we wanted to in time so it feels a bit aimless/frustrating right now, but we're working on that. Thank you for appreciating the graphics :)

Yeah, I made a mistake shortly before uploading that resulted in the npc reacting to the bike (they were meant to ignore it), which resulted in a lot of issues... oopsie :D

But thank you for playing and for the kind words anyway!

Yeah tile-based sounds like it would make for an interesting puzzle game. Though I did like how dynamic and reactive/bouncy it feels as it is right now, so in my opinion it would be best to recreate that juicy feel without having the actual physics jank, if you know what I mean :D

I absolutely love the character sprite and animations. The gameplay feels good, even though dying to an enemy flying in from offscreen for the Xth time while the music repeats over and over again feels like pure agony at times, but I guess that might've been indented. Good job!

Is the game basically over once you unlock the area to the right in the "level select"-screen. So after finishing the level at the very top right?

Kinda sad that there isn't a real goal yet. I tried all three characters and found the skeleton to be the strongest at beating up everybody xD Such a bully... Visuals are cool and would love to see more in the future!

Thank you for playing and for the kind words. Proper task feedback was something I tried to cram in (literally) last second, but the build finished like a minute after the deadline :D

Thank you! Yes, I tried to recreate the starting area of Untitled Goose Game and even made broken bicycle sprite specifically for it, so thank you for noticing :D

Cool idea! The second game is very hard. But it was fun. Good job.

Such a cool game! The mechanic is awesome and it feels good to play. It's just way to hard/unforgiving for me or I'm simply too bad.

Cool variety of enemies and weapons! Great job!

Visuals are absolutely gorgeous! Gameplay mechanic seems interesting, so I'd love to see how it continues if you keep working on it.

I really think the mechanic has lots of potential and deserves to be explored further. But I also think that you should probably ditch the physics based system (seems like it's based on some kind of rigidbody/joints system) and instead have a custom solution that handles the upper body and then updates the bones with something like a inverse kinematics system.

I absolutely love the concept and at times it feels nice to play and it looks very nice.

But as it is right now it's just a bit too buggy/janky. I really wanted to complete it and free my friend, so I restarted multiple times, but each time I got stuck somewhere else or sometimes bones would simply disappear...

Would love to play it again if you continue working on it. I feel with a more stable system for the upper body and fleshed out level design this could be something truly great. Great job!

I would love for you to upload a video of the gameplay to be able to see more of the game. As it stands I am simply unable to get out of the hole in the beginning. And I've really tried my best for a few minutes, but it simply seems impossible to get enough height, no matter what kind of combination and timing of jump, boost and dash I use.

Basic control and movement feel good, but it wasn't able to convey that "Getting over it"-feeling for me, as that would have required me to make at least some progress and then fall back down again.

Still a solid entry with an interesting intro and nice basic mechanics. Good job!

Wow! This is such an awesome little game. It's like a tiny complete metroidvania. I love it. The art and sfx are great and I loved the flashlight effect. Great job!

Definitely the most spooky game of the jam I've played yet even though it starts out super cute. Is the game supposed to end in that noisy screen? I've tried multiple times and that's always where I end up and nothing seems to happen. Anyway, great job!

Very charming game with some touching/cute little stories. If I were to critique anything it would be that the violin playing wasn't audible. Apart from that detail it was almost a perfect entry. Great job!

Hi Case, I remember you/your game from the "Ascend"-SpeedJam, which was almost perfect and you did a great job here as well!

The game feels pretty hard (or I am too bad) and I wasn't able to make it out despite trying a few times, but the basic mechanics are interesting and both visuals and audio are top notch. Some of the ghosts are proper creepy while still fitting the cute vibe of the game. Great entry!

Wow, what a cool game! I loved all the little sidequests, though I wasn't able to figure them all out in my playthrough. The artstyle is cool and I especially liked the pair dressed like a horse. Poor poor horse butt... such an elobarte costume and doesn't even get candy.

Yeah getting the correct phrase is a bit hard right now as there's no feedback at all... It is indeed Halloween and candy related (without containing the word candy)

Thank you very much! Seems like your friend appeared after all..

I love the idea and the visuals are amazing. Gameplay can get quickly hard to down right impossible, but the thought of a cat frantically zooming around trying to save you from evil spirits makes up for it. Great job!

Thank you for playing! Yes there was/is lots more content planned and we're hope to release an expanded and more fleshed out version for Halloween.

As for the spelling: I totally missed that tree would be something valid to spell. I don't want to spoil it here just in case someone reads the comments first, but I'll have to rename the task to something like "Spell out a 12 letter phrase" and additionally to the hints in the game potentially add the hint "Halloween"

Thank you for playing and for the nice feedback. Yes, it's still pretty rough around the edges and missing lots of content, but I'm happy that the concept seems to work :)

Thank you for playing! It's still a bit rough around the edges and missing some content. Watched your video and you immediately stumbled upon a bug as the NPC isn't supposed to be reacting to the bike (and subsequently walk through the wall :D).

Also thank you for your nice words about the music. This was actually my first time ever creating music, so it's awesome to get some positive feedback.

Thank you for checking it out! Very interesting video.  Yeah something along those lines, but it didn't really feel precise enough for what I was going for.

About the tile size: I think it  works fine in full screen, but is definitely too small when playing on the small embedded player. Probably should have done something about it since most people likely will just play on the page without going into full screen. Thank you for the feedback

Thank you for checking it out! Glad you liked it :)

Hey, just saw your game on the Top 20 video! I had a very similar idea to you, so I figured I'd drop a comment. In mine you forge (aka draw) scaled down pixel art weapons for customers of different sizes, so the "gameplay" is very similar. Though you managed to make it far more complete and charming. So kudos to you. Great job!

Great job! Now I wanna buy a Carrera track...

Ich mach ein Aufguss mit der Hausbar und dann dreh ich lauter.

I think I just killed a bunch of old guys in a sauna... And I liked it!!!

Super cool game! Sometimes it feels like guests walk away too quickly. Even when preparing something before it's requested when multiple people arrive at the same time it seems impossible to get to all of them in time which feels a bit frustrating.

But still great fun and lots of potential. Good job!

Cool little game. The winds flip so fast that I found it hard to correctly time my jump and had more simply jumping and hoping for the best. Might be a skill issue though.

Also I didn't really understand the overheat mechanic...

(1 edit)

Cool game! The car is a bit hard to control and I'm still not fully sure if I understand the heat mechanic correctly, but it still was lots of fun!

Fun fact: I made a very similar Car Pickup/Delivery game using the same asset pack for a recent ScoreJam: https://juwambo.itch.io/get-away

Thank you for playing and GJ for reaching the end!

Thank you for playing! Yes, the drift is often times a bit too much, I think I kind of overdid it because I just love drifting so much! Will improve in a future update.

Thank you for playing! Yes, I was not fully satisfied with the camera, but I couldn't really put any more time into it during the jam and figured it was "good enough". In terms of getting lost I think the bigger mistake was that the path isn't clearly visible at the start of the track, which would have been an quick and easy fix...

Thank you for playing! Yes that last turn is pretty brutal and will be improved in an update after the jam :)

Interesting game. The concept of switching between 2D and 3D definitely has potential!
