Cool project and concept. Could be something big in the future if you continue working on it.

Same as others before i encountered bugs and crashes. When I looked at the note before Room 3 i always got the error down below. Mashing E can actually give you multiple items at once, so if you mash it when looking at the heal kit you get multiple. And crouching sinks you into the floor and you sometimes dont get up really good, you have to do some weird crouch movement to get unstuck.

Some additional feedback, the puzzles are really hard and i think need a little bit more explaination, like hitting the lock opens the door when before we used actual keys. And the items you can interact with look exactly the same as items you can't interact with, was looking for the note 20 minutes. The keypads are really difficult to use, a better idea would be a zoom in and you are using the mouse then, or atleast show the number you are hovering over atm. The gun seems massively underpowered, what i would do is, make it a onehit kill, but you only find single bullets, this means if you screw up you have to go melee. Melee seems a little bit overpowered, you just go in hit and go back out and you dont get a hit. Its not really clear where the health screen is and using a heal item has too little of a response, using multiple here is something that will happen quite often.

Hope you continue working on it since it is a really cool project. And I hope you don't take my feedback personal or something, I give you so much feedback since this could actually be a banger of a game and you need to know what works good and what works not so good.

Very inspired, ambitious entry! Definitely a lot of quirks but it looks like a lot to accomplish in 7 days. I had some performance issues on my pc but watched duck play through a lot of it until we experienced a crash late-game. Very cool audio, art, animations.

The repeated enemy encounters lost their effectiveness over time, and the enemy on the ceiling didn't seem to be that threatening to the player. The camera mechanic wasn't really explained to the player too well and had to look at the comments to figure out how to proceed in the beginning. One thing I found that broke my immersion the most was the padlock placement on the doors, I couldn't help but think "That's not how padlocks work."

Overall, this is an impressive amount of work for a seven day jam and it's amazing you managed to organize such a large team to do this. I feel the biggest pitfalls are the lack of player direction and the occasional immersion breakers like the padlocks.

Very good pacing all around, the general idea is amazing while the puzzle games are both intriguing and challenging I'd say!

Developer

I agree with the previous comment, this game should really have more ratings, I didn't realize I could type into the safe until looking around for like 15 minutes.

Developer

Hi!! Thank you very much for your comment, we will take into account your feedback about the safe :)

This game could clearly be offered for sale once completed. Frankly, it ticks all the boxes of a good game in this genre: Atmosphere, game design, puzzles, original mechanics, I had a great time, and I intend to play it again post-update, as I’m frustrated at not being able to finish it because of the crashes (One crash when killing a monster with machete, and a second when killing an eye on the wall).

I got as far as the door requiring the C opening code, and would really have liked to continue, so that’s an achievement on your part! Congratulations to the whole team on a job well done.

Your game deserves to be played and rated by more people. Your choices and the quality of your game inspire us to improve ours, which currently has design problems.

And I have only one thing to say: long live the machete!

This game was fantastic. I absolutely love SCP and this really made my day to play. Great game!

Thank you for playing! We really appreciate your honesty and enthusiasm for the game.

Since we started the development as the Jam started we dind't had time to polish some major bugs... so we are preparing a mega update for when the Jams ends that will add a companion and fix many gameplay features and major crashes.

I hope that if you try the game again soon, you enjoy it even more.

Hey, I too struggled with the safe and code puzzle. But I looked to the other comments and will try that solution soon! Loved the music, absolute Silent Hill vibes.

Developer(+2)

Hey, I'm the composer for the game. Thanks so much for your kind comment, I'm so pleased you enjoyed our game and the music! Silent Hill was absolutely the inspiration, very glad that came across

I like the ambience, very nice. I crashed in one of the rooms and was no longer able to continue. What i did play was nice. (GF also played and crashed around the same time, after the testing chambers it does that.

Developer(+2)

Hi HeavensGates, thanks for playing, we are aware that there are parts where the game crashes. We have tried to patch it and are actively working on it but unfortunately we didn't make it in time to upload it within the Jam period.

Thats all good! Bugs are expected in a game jam, just wanted to let you know in case it helps narrow things down!

Submitted(+1)

Well the game looks great but I can get past the room with the safe... I might be too dumb to understand the puzzle.

Too bad, I like the ambiance and art style ^^'

Submitted(+1)

If you mean the first room, you gotta flash the weird runes with the camera to reveal the codes, if not that can also crouch to get in the little hole in the starting room

Submitted(+1)

Oooh I didn't get there's an interaction with the weird runes! I'll give it another go soon!
