GG all!

Thank you very much for the kind words! We're glad you liked the art and the creepy vibes of the game! Sorry that you got stuck a few times though, we sadly didn't have time to playtest much and implemented a few things last second which probably broke some stuff, if we had more time we would've polished the experience more! We hope it wasn't too frustrating and was still enjoyable nonetheless!

Good catch! We had thought of changing the camera resolution depending on the screen resolution, but hadn't extended the logic to tying the darkness to the screen resolution as well. Thanks for pointing it out!

Thank you for the kind words! Concerning the SFX, we ended up doing the mixing with less than 1 hour left before the submission deadline which is why it's done poorly. Thanks for playing our game, we hope you enjoyed it!

Indeed, we ended up doing the volume mixing with less than 1 hour left before the submission deadline, so the sounds are a bit all over the place! Thanks a lot for the kind words and playing our game, we hope you enjoyed the experience overall!

This was a very nice twist on the biking simulator genre, and I particularly appreciated the fact that there is a tutorial at the beginning, you don't often see that in a game jam. However, I'd recommend not having the tutorial play between each attempt, or to implement a skip function. This being a game jam, time is short though, so great job with what little time was available!

A great concept that's very well executed, especially the tension building up and the VFX. I'd be curious how you're supposed to get ending 2, I couldn't manage it!

Very well-put together game, I really enjoyed it! The puzzles were simple enough, and I appreciate that you had it so that the enemy AI made it so that you could always move forward instead of sometimes having it stuck somewhere you needed to go! My minor comment would be to maybe have the background music a bit less intense, it gave me the impression I was a secret agent escaping a facility instead of a scared child. Overall, a great entry.

I love the sound design, both of the background track and the footsteps and monster VFX! I'm curious, can you ever see the monster or do you have to realize he's nearby by sound only? I tried seeing him a few times but never managed. Overall a nice little game!

Thanks a lot! A lot of time of was into the art. On a future iteration we might bump the brightness up a little to make it a bit less scary and showcase the art a bit more!

Thank you very much for the kind words! We hope you enjoyed the experience!

It might be that you haven't pressed space to clear the dialogue window when the game starts! Sorry about that, the UI isn't entirely clear -- we should've made it so that the character isn't animated while a dialogue window is up to avoid this type of confusion. Let us know how you feel about the game if you give it another shot!

I really enjoyed this entry. The combination of retro graphics, SFX and the gameplay loop of guiding someone else as they navigate the ocean while having little to no control over what happens to them blended extremely well to create a suffocating experience. Good job.

I really liked the intro cutscene, it's not something you often see in game jams. Great job with the SFX and the controls as well. Something you might want to try and improve is the enemy AI as it often seemed to get stuck (at least when it was chasing me), but other than that, the experience was very tense. Fantastic entry!

Very nice entry and I like that there's a properly done introduction to this game to set-up the story! The game itself was well-made and creepy, I really enjoyed it. A few audio tears here and there, but that might be an issue on my end. Great job for such a short period of time!

Glad you enjoyed the experience! The ending is poorly implemented because we rushed it at the end of the game jam, you have to interact with the staircase in the station with the locked gate.

Cute little experience! I like the rpg maker games and this one has quite a bit of charm! One thing I think could've been done better would be to make the gathering of the ingredients more of a quest to add some challenge but other than that it was good!

This is quite a nice entry! It reminds me of house quite a bit and has a nice art style and good sounds! I really liked the chicken guy design! I think my only little problem with the game is that it's too easy to die without having had any chance of surviving, like in the maze if you are unlucky and meet a dead end you can't do anything to save yourself. Other than that I think it's a really nice game!

Thank you, we're glad you enjoyed the experience!

A very nice and original approach to story-telling, I like it. And the art goes very well with the overall vibe of the game, as well as the SFX and soundtrack. I just wish there was a way to restart the game at set points instead of going back form the beginning when you reach a game over. Great entry overall.

Nice little match 3 game!

Hey, I think you'd get more replied if you added a link to your game and also offered to review the game of people who review yours! Here's my team's submission, and I'll be sure to check and rate yours: https://itch.io/jam/scream-jam-2023/rate/2322649

We didn't have time to actually create a hide animation for the player, which is why only the flashlight changes! In terms of actually making the player invisible to the monster, it should work, assuming it isn't already chasing you down, in which case you have to make it into a subway to escape!

A nice little vampire-survivor lite! I would've loved though if you pushed it deeper into the horror-theme to better fit in with the jam. Nice work over a short 7-day period, especially the balancing that felt very fair!

Nice drawing game! Having an erase all button would've made it a bit less tedious having the manually erase the drawings, and having the drawings required become overtime more and more disturbing would've been a nice way to build some tension leading to the end! Good job as well on detecting when to let the player move to the next drawing, the logic must've been hard to implement! Nice little entry overall.

The story is quite interesting, I'd love to see more of it! The choices make it a nice interactable experience and add replayability! I think if you added some art to this it would go a long way! Nice entry!

I really enjoyed how the car handled, fantastic work on that! I would've loved seeing more levels, as this really seems like it could make a good driving game. It lacked a bit in the horror department for me though. Score I got is 330. Solid entry!

Well made game, and the sound design on Mr. Do What I Say is great! It was a bit too distorted at times to really understand what it was saying, I think that adding subtitles might be a good workaround to keep the distorted effect while improving clarity. It didn't take away from the game though as I could easily figure out what had to be done in the mini-games. Great entry overall!

This feels like it draws some inspiration from analogue horror, but it has a nice twist! I like how it made you progressively think more and more of what you consider to represent the person, starting off with obvious choices and then making you question them more!

Thanks for playing! If you're referring to the small doors that exist in the tunnels, they are used to hide from the monster, assuming it isn't already chasing you! The flashlight automatically turns off while you hide to visually indicate that you are hidden, and turns back on when you let go of space. Hope this helps!

Nice little entry! I think with more mechanics this could be a fun idea for a puzzle game! I'd say this was a bit too easy, especially since you could make your whole route before opening up the way to your character and also because you could see the zombie heads poking from the top of the blocks in which they were hiding =P

I really liked the main character, he looked really nice! The ghosts where neat as well! I think there's an interesting concept of having to find the exit while hiding from ghosts but I had a hard time knowing where to go, it felt like I was aimlessly walking around. I think with more puzzles and more indications as to what to do this would've been better, but nice entry nonetheless!

I really like the aesthetic of both the characters and the background, it's very unique! The background sound was well made as well. As others have mentioned, having a stronger story before encountering the stranger would've helped to build some additional tension. A great entry overall!

Very solid entry and a great way to change up the FNAF formula! I particularly enjoyed the art direction and the intermissions between each gameplay segment, they really contributed to creating a sense of uneasiness and build some additional tension. My minor comment would be that I ended up mostly focusing on the gauges to determine what I should do, which eventually broke the tension that was built up through the great atmosphere. If there was a way to convey the information without incentivizing the player to focus on the gauges instead of what's happening around them, I think that's be great! Great job overall, I'm curious to see where this goes!

I can see the inspiration from games like vamp survivor, I think the car idea is a cool concept since it can be super fun to drive at high speeds and ram through enemies! I think there's potential here but the car was a little hard to steer. Other than that it was a fun game!

This is a nice concept! I liked how you had the sanity meter to take care of which forced you to stop looking at the room. The only thing I'd say is that it's was a little unclear to me what made the monster arrive and how to avoid it, but overall it was pretty cool!

I really liked the design of the demon fused with the tree and the three hanging sacs containing a fetus, it was some really disturbing imagery! The audio design was neat as well, good job! One recommendation would be to have some sort of fog effect or to increase the render distance, having things spawn so close to me was a bit hard on my eyes. Overall a very solid entry, keep it up!

Thanks! Here's ours: https://itch.io/jam/scream-jam-2023/rate/232264

Very neat short game! As others have mentioned the art direction is a definite highlight, as well as how the setting changes over time. I think having it so that the player can move backwards  between rooms instead of only forward would've been nice, but the reality of a game jam is that some features get cut! Overall a great entry!
