This is a really neat game! I love the story and the idea! What you have so far is pretty well executed. I really liked the whole messenger system, it leaves you with some interesting questions about the past and who the other characters are. I really like the in-game reason of not being able to type messages being that you got banned--it's clever haha! I often find myself feeling 'guilt' for abandoning NPCs in games I haven't played forever... so this definitely made me uneasy (in a good way)!
Good job on the game!
Thanks! :D
interesting idea! good job!
Thank you! :D
Very interesting premise and also quite ingenious to make it similar to a twitch server hahaha. My brain automatically was sketched out about clicking on the download button. I couldnt get a good look at the creature peeking out of the corner and behind the car, only a glimpse which was great to create a weird feeling.
Gotta admit the art style and the music prevented me from fully immerse myself into a creepy mood.
Other than that congrats on submiting the game for the jam.
Thanks for your feedback! :D
very nice game
the sheep appearing behind me startled me a bit , i like the chat thing
Thank you! :D
Congrats on your submission! I liked the messaging app thing. I actually clicked around to read all the other stuff that was there before clicking on the active chat. Then downloaded and ran the game. I played on the web build and the first time I got stuck when I moved the mouse up or down and I think I did while something was loading, I'm not sure because I got stuck looking down I think, because I saw street lines. I could move around but not look. I restarted and was a lot more conscious about moving my mouse and it worked well.
I like the little sheep popping up behind the car and stuff, I tried to go around it and got stuck on the grass, I didn't realize that was a border for the game. I was trying to avoid being jumped scared to I was trying to give the car a wide turn haha. After heading towards the office and not being able to get in, I circled around once more and then tried to go down the middle of the houses.
When I got the new "update" or download, I was confused by the title coming back up. I was like, wait am I in another game? So that immersion thing of going into a game in a game really got me.
Thanks for your feedback! :D
I think you managed to get some really cool creepy vibes going, loved the messenger idea and the added detail of other chats hinting at stuff you never let the player know about, it's a nice world building touch
Audio wise it is a little barebones, I think some ambience or some music could've tied the whole thing together a bit better
The biggest compliment I think I can give is that when it ended I wanted to play more of it!
Good job with the jam, hope you had fun with the project!
Thank you for your feedback! :D
This was a really nice surprise and I think you did a great job as a very lo-fi title. The simulated IM brings a lot of nostalgia for me, and really captures that old Internet vibe. The idea of replaying and re-evaluating a dead game is something that I've really liked, and this reminds me of stuff like Agony of a Dying MMO and Pagan: Autogeny. Through the dialogue with Xander, you really convey the mix of fond memories and sadness of exploring an old game that people no longer play, and pepper the game with memories. The horror element is creepy and reminds me a bit of the 'game come alive' trope that you see in stuff like Worlds.com and creepypastas. I like the idea of a being hiding in the game, waiting to be let out. I think you could do a lot with that and take this game in a bunch of directions. Great work!
Thank you! :D
Really love the idea, not able to progress after the shop though, do I need to go to the office? Walked around the map a few times and couldnโt find anything.
Other than that the creativity here is amazing, visually a bit rough but itโs also kind of charming lol. Very cool stuff I really want to see where it goes lol
Thanks for the feedback! :D
In terms of where to go after the shop, you need to collect a keycard that is hidden in the map. Looking back, I definitely could have made that more clear so thank you for bringing it to my attention.
