As usual - super cute artwork!! I'm very impressed with how polished and well rounded of a game you made in a 1 person team!

Thanks for jamming with us :)

Enjoyed the time again -  you folks make your jam really special! Looking forward to spring already :-D

Was busy the last evenings with  polishing some more and adding a few new features. AAAND a Helloween Special - yay!

Very polished game for the timeframe, especially considering that no frameworks were used. The art is top notch and the audio is quite good!

Impressive for something made alone ! Congrats !

The gameplay is very minimal and the game was quite nicely polished, I think it was the right thing to do

Developer

Thanks :-) I only go solo, when I have a very simple idea that fits a theme, so I can concentrate on art but still end up with a playable game. With this strategy  my   solo runs are quite successful. And if not,  at least I did some nice art :-D

Love the artwork and it's a cool twist on the genre, the difficulty is a bit brutal though. Thanks for joining the jam! :)

Developer

Hi Theo, many thanks for playing   my game! If time allows, I will add a difficulty option to the post-jam version.

the games decent, i think the gravity is to high so its quite hard to control

Developer

Hi, thank you for your feedback. If time allows, I will add a difficulty option to the post-jam version. In Easy mode, the influence of gravity then won't be that brutal any more https://humane-tiger.itch.io/escape-the-cave/devlog/626019/announcement-for-the-...

love the art style

Great visuals! I have come so far that the cave is over.

Developer(+1)

Congrats! You made it! An end scene is missing - when you come out of the cave that's the successful escape.

Developer

In the post-jam version you will see a proper win-game screen, I fixed the bug causing it to disappear. Maybe I will even add a nice ending scene,  let's see..

Can't keep spamming a key like that for more than a minute ahah. Otherwise beautiful game and cool sound!

Talk about the dark souls, this is harder. good artstyle

the game play is enjoyable but I encountered a bug where I would pick up the light and it would not give me more lighting I loved the sound desing

Developer

Thank you for playing and sharing your feedback. Regarding the bug: Which browser do you use?  I encounter some strange issues in Chrome - have only tested in Firefox .  I think I had this issue also in firefox one time (I was collecting an orb in complete darkness by luck, but no light came back). Is this the situation you had as well?

Submitted(+1)

yes that is the bug I experienced with the light not coming back and I use either chrome or sidkick depending on for what

Developer

Found the bug causing the cave to stay black even when you catch a light by chance. It will be fixed in the post-jam version.

It's got more of a sense of speed than most flappy bird-style games, which is fun :)

Very cool that you programmed this without a framework for this jam--nice job!

I recognise that orb collect sound effect from Mixkit!  Used it in some of my own games.

Developer

That's true. Added it to the credits section.
