This game suffers from the same thing a lot of the games we've developed so far suffers from: you're not scaling the graphics properly. I've done my best to squint through it all, and the graphics seems to have a level of polish behind that rough coat of blur. The game also lacks any sense of objective, which is necessary for it to be considered a game. The controls are also very floaty, which meant I crashed into enemies constantly, and there was no health that I noticed either.

However negative I may seem, there are some positives.

First, I love the animation of the sprites, it feels natural through and through. Second, the idea of the game does not sound too bad either, with the player going as deep as possible, rather than having a swarm of enemy ships like most other games have. Although this idea couldn't be followed through on, it's a great idea regardless.

This was an enjoyable game to play where it was quite simple and the art is also nice and I do like the unique under water theme.

Some problems i would point out would be that the player doesn't seem to take any damage for me? and that im not quite sure what the end goal is.

Other than that great game

A solid attempt at an r-type shooter, movement mechanics built on the concept making it feel as if you're under water.

Artwork looks nice and animations feel smooth.

I feel that the abrupt deaths are a bit unfair and bullets seem to have an issue firing backwards (towards the left).

Really love the concept! I loved the feeling of exploration as you go deeper through the tunnels and the music really adds to the atmosphere (although the shooting sounds seems a little out of place). The sprites are really well made although I think it would be better to render them as sharp instead of blurry so we can see the pixel art properly. I like the fact that the movement has momentum making it feel more like a proper underwater vessel, although I think it's too slow to stop - if you're travelling at moderate speed it's almost impossible to stop in time when you see a large enemy.

Overall a really good start on an interesting take on a shoot 'em up, I'd love to see this taken further!

Really lovely looking assets - the enemies specifically looked really really good and the animation of the squid-like ones looked great!! I found the movement to be frustratingly slow and the momentum concept to be interesting but annoying but on the whole the gameplay was pretty neat. You should be proud - good game :)

Liked the idea of this being based underwater and having the enemies as the sea creatures, the art was well designed and fitted the theme and loved the sound effects that were made from the shooting to the background music, would of been good to include instructions somewhere but they were easy to work out quickly, and it would have been good to have an exit button, but a good attempt was made, well done all involved!
