Don't have too much to say that hasn't already been covered, My main feedback would be that with the player bullets. enemy bullets, and enemies themselves all being the same colour it can be a bit difficult to tell what's happening on screen at a glance once the game gets busy.
All in all great work!
I love the overall feel of the game. It was quite challenging for me, I think it could use either checkpoints or a way to regain health back.
I really liked the models, and the music was very fitting as well.
UP2037603: I found that the enemies' shooting made the player take care to evade their attacks and fight well rather than being able to hold the shoot button while ignoring the enemies. This added an interesting challenge to this game, although I do agree with some previous comments that a checkpoint system that prevents failure from restarting the entire game would be welcome and that, to discern how well the player is doing, a health bar would be useful.
The art and sound effects both worked well and I felt that they'd been designed to be consistent with each other.
Good challenge, took me a couple tries to defeat the first boss/ boss the first time... couldn't tell if it was the same boss or a different one.
Would benefit from checkpoints of some kind and a menu. Having to defeat all the small enemies then two boss enemies without a checkpoint is unfortunately quite annoying when the boss enemies take so long to defeat. A menu would also have been a nice feature.
Another feature that would have added to the game play would have been to have the turret fire at a limited speed/ have a weapon cool-down. Then again I do enjoy being an unstoppable, never reloading, flying mini-gun.
This game definitely has a consistent theme that's reflected in the art style of the models and environment, as well as the music and it all works with the genre of the game.
Overall it was pretty good.
Health bar for the player would have been nice but I liked that the enemies had one. First attempt playing everything froze up and I had to wait to die before managing to have control and I felt the the movement was quite floaty and the acceleration was a bit too fast. Otherwise a great game!
I feel like you may have had the game window scrolled a bit too far down, as there is a green health bar for the player at the top of the screen
I love the aesthetic of the whole game, the ruined city, the giant killer robots and meatballs, and definitely the player character. The game balance feels fine and after a few attempts I managed to fight the second robot which was a significant challenge. The music was also very fitting and I quite liked it.
Overall a really good game, Nice work!
I very much like how detailed some of the character models were. Its also a nice addition that enemies shoot at the player. One thing I would add though is a few more ground models to make it feel more apocalyptic.
Nice game real original, def missing most of thesse Starfox-type games. Also the retro vibe is really nice. Hitting a niche but much needed category.
Good game! The challenge made it very engaging. UI was simple but easy to understand, the models looked great! The controls were tight, I liked how you could hold space to keep firing.
The bosses having a weakspot was interesting and the sound design was on point for the aesthetic.
I wasn't big on the environment but I realise it fits the theme of it being a dream/nightmare.
Nice one!
This was a solid game, the controls felt good and responsive but that lack of animations was slightly disappointing but the models were of a good standard. The sound FX and music were very reminiscent of Starfox 1993, I found that the bosses were fun and the challenge felt like it ramped up accordingly you also had a nice amount of health to deal with everything. However the "You Won" screen was a bit disappointing after the effort required to beat the last boss.
I also liked the way that the bosses had to be shot in the eye (its weak spot) this was a nice little feature and made the boss's slightly harder.
The fact you guys had controller support was amazing and I actually sat down with my controller and played this until I completed it. Good game guys!
Wow great game, I really get the whole retro feel with the game and had fun playing it to completion. Perhaps the boss had maybe a little bit too much health (I think I am just bad aha) but overall really cool. Also really appreciate the controller support, played great on it!
This Game is really fun and Overall has great feel to it. Whilst lacking in animation the enemy models are quite creative. The environment also really fits well and gives the game a nice end of the world vibe. Main positives of the game are the responsive mechanics which make the game really fun to play with hit detection being great. Overall, Gameplay is really good, not much else to pick on.
Really nice models and overall aesthetic i felt the game came together perfectly to provide the experience you were going for.
The game was challenging but not too difficult and thew option for a controller was a fun idea that was worth trying out.
The boss's were cool and looked great and it was interesting to see enemy's stacking up if you did not clear them quick enough.
Overall i had a lot of fun completing this!
I really enjoyed playing the game, with the art style looking great and the controls feeling responsive and accurate when shooting. The music also works really well in the game.
I did manage to get past the first boss and a second boss spawning and being a constant threat during "wave 2" was an interesting experience, making it so I was forced to constantly be moving in order to complete the game.
Though the UI on the victory screen is a little broken currently, with it spawning the message in a bit of an empty void and in the far right corner of the screen
As much as you might not believe, that's exactly how the victory screen is supposed to look xD
It may or may not have been a bit of a last-minute push.
I love how you captured the retro look, especially the buildings on the group!! The mechanics and controls were on point, it felt very smooth and everything worked as it should have ! Wish i could get past the boss though haha
The gameplay was great and the controls felt great. Furthermore, the fact you implemented the use of a controller was sick, love that. The models could have used with some animation, it would of looked great and gave the player another thing to look at. The sound effects for the gun after a while became annoying, so maybe implementing a single shot per click or burst would of broken the sound up a bit. The music fitted the game perfectly and overall you done great! I loved the broken building models, they looked sick! Great job all of you, carry on the good work!
