The music and sound effects are good. It is a fun idea and the controls worked well.
Overall the game is well made and has a nice feel to it, the sound effects and music used fit the theme well. The aiming and movement felt good, the way the crosshair was implemented definitely adds to the feel of the game. I'm not sure sure if this is an itch specific problem but while the player is underwater the underwater effect (the screen being slightly tinited blue) has a border on it's top and bottom where the effect isn't present. Not much else I could find wrong with the game, but maybe adding a score or ducks defeated counter so that the player has an indication of their progess.
UP2037603: Although the aiming is sometimes slightly unyieldy, the gameplay is enjoyable. Although the rail system goes in circles, it's nonetheless enjoyable and kept interesting by the moving enemies that fire back and force you to evade. The inclusion of a functional menu and sound effects both add to the enjoyability.
Aiming is not as claer as it could be so it is easy to miss becasue of that and becasue of the weired movements that the player makes along the defined route other than that its enjoyable
I had a lot of fun playing this!
Those duck sound effects are genius, especially to have 1 for damage and 1 for defeating the ducks, I have noted that as a fellow sound designer. Also the music worked well with the theme and sounded well made.
The look of the game is fantastic too, I could really feel the bathtub vibes.
The mechanics were cool too. Having the shooting mechanic change directions was well done and I t adds a lot to the feel of the game.
Would have been nice however to see a score or a number of ducks defeated.
Also would have been good to know how far into the game I'd gotten or if it just loops forever as it wasn't clear to me and I left the game wondering if there was more but knowing I didn't have time to play it for any longer.
Thank you for playing the game.
On the note of the duck sounds, all of them were actually voice acted specifically for the game, so we did hope they would leave a good impression. On the note of keeping track of progress, the group has talked about it and we did decide that, if we had a bit more time, we would add a way of telling which wave your currently on. It didnt come up in testing as we could see it in the debug menu and we forgot that wouldnt be visible in the finished game. Thank you for your feedback
I had no idea they were voice acted, that brings a whole new level to it!
The setting was very interesting and this was definitely my favourite HUD so far! Shooting didn't feel amazing to me and would have appreciated keyboard controls. Maybe a pause/exit option would have been nice but a solid foundation
Thank you for playing the game.
Thank you for all the compliments, it means a lot. With the idea of a pause menu, that could work really well.
First of all, the theme was pretty intriguing. I haven't played many bath-themed shooters in my time, and the way the player moved around the tub definitely made me feel like I was swimming through it. The music was pretty good and the sounds were appealing. The reticle made it clear where the shots were going, very nice touch.
It feels like it takes way too long to die, I barely get hit by the ducks. I also know that there's meant to be a boss at some point but it seems to take a while to get to it, because I'm pretty sure I haven't seen it yet. It also would be nice to be able to see how many ducks you've shot and also maybe how many until the next wave/the boss.
Good game overall, I just might play it again!
Than you for playing the game.
Yea, we talked about it as a group and decided if we did have some more time, we would add a way of tracking which wave you are currently on and such.
In the current state of the game, there are 10 waves. each wave starts with regular ducks and then top hat ducks. So one way of seeing is when the duck type changes.
I do recommend trying to reach the boss though on wave 10, as it is a challenge to beat.
Nice design and a cool concept, would have liked to see some sort of score system to keep track of my ducks though!
Thank you for playing.
The game uses a wave based system with a set number of enemies. The games description has been updated to show this now. With the aim of the game being to reach the boss fight and beating the boss.
Very nice concept that is executed pretty well. Starting off, Main Menu!, good stuff on the buttons and the general design, However, There is not much use for a exit button in a web game, easy to look past. The Model of the Sub is very nice and detailed, with it being given a lot of life with the animated propeller + Bubbles. Shooting is very nice and responsive with nice audio feedback from firing and hitting the ducks. Only things that are missing are a lack of a game end or score system and the level turns out to be quite small. Overall very nice and simple game with a great execution.
there was a boss you had to defeat that would give you your game end screen. however we could've made this more clear
Oh I see, Thanks for letting me know, I have now updated the rating :)
I liked this game, it felt very simple and there wasn't much reason to carry on playing after a short session, so I feel as though a simple score counter could have helped greatly to try and keep people playing or coming back to play some more.
It was also a little strange when the rubber ducks came flying out of the water when you also came out but the graphics were very nice, the controls were just as good. Your sound FX's also matched your games design so overall, a nice little game that could have done with a few improvements here and there but still something to be proud of.
Thank you for your feedback.
With this game, it uses a wave based system, with a set number of ducks you need to beat in order to reach a challenging final boss, which once defeated, leads to a victory screen. Though a way of keeping track of waves could be a good addition.
With the sounds, all the duck sounds were actually voice acted and implemented into the game.
Your game was really fun, I enjoyed the variety of enemy ducks, game the game more veriaty rather than just shooting the same low health enemys.
I found that you were able to move through the lego in the bath, I feel that it was ment to damage the paly.
overall a good game.
Thank you for playing the game.
The lego bricks had a few uses in the game, with them being able to deflect a few enemy projectiles and to add more for the player to look at in the game.
I love how the player paths around the map and out of the water! Shooting mechanics were a bit funky however a great concept! I stan tub sub
Thank you for playing the game.
There were a couple bugs with shooting, but i feel we hit a good balance at the end. With the reticule always pointing to where the bullets will end up if undisturbed. But I can see where it goes a bit wrong. If we had a bit more time these issues would be sorted fairly quickly
A good game I love the sound affects, however the reticule feels a bit inaccurate and its a bit weird when the ducks jump out the water.
Thank you for playing the game.
With the sounds the ducks make, they are actually all voiced acted and added into the project, so its entirely first party. The aim is affected slightly by the water layer which may affect aim a little bit. Thank you for your feedback on the game.
