Great idea for a game but unfortunately I really struggled to get the torch to work, once the battery died I didn't know how to reload it and it took me a while to figure out how to load it the first time too.
I'd love to see more added to the game from what I did see, it looked really good as well!

I'll start off by saying, you got me! What a wonderful jump scare!
What I liked:
- Use of the theme was great and the game was dark without just being pitch black.
- The chungus flashlight was fun and the battery swapping mechanic was interesting.
- Cool foundational mechanic to have the different light modes to reveal hidden messages/items.
- You jump scare was done perfectly!
Some Notes:
- It would have been nice to have continuous turning or snap turning available.
- I wouldn't have minded some more background noises to set the mood more.
- I thought that the core of the game was just looking around and couldn't find many things to unveil when using the trigger button. I almost gave up, but eventually the message on the ground showed up and I got a great jump scare! I just needed more initial feedback to know that the game had progression occurring.
I think you have a great foundation here! It would be great to see more incorporated with the core mechanics.
Thanks for a great submission!
Really creepy atmosphere. Looks very promising! 👏🏻
Do you plan to continue working on it?
That's one honkin' big flashlight, heh. Nice reload mechanic, sort of a Half-Life Alyx style gesture.
I wasn't sure what to do once the game started though, and didn't hear anything of note. I really enjoyed the stars in the atrium above being the only light, but after awhile with nothing seeming to happen, I found myself enjoying the level layout, if puzzled at the intent. You set the stage really well, but I found myself waiting for anything to happen. Was there any reason we couldn't move around the store?
Great effect with the flashlight, it's the most direct application of 'light in the darkness' I've played in this Jam. I'd suggest trying an animation rather than hinge joint on the flashlight reload, as it tended to swing freely/not lock into place. Good job!
As others have said, I did struggle with getting the flashlight working and wasn't entirely sure what the goal was. It was good that you led the player to a point, but then it kinda stopped.
Nice spooky feel to the game though, good entry :)
I also was struggling with the flashlight at first then I just started pushing all the buttons and flailing it around and figured out how to use it. I noticed the mannequins moving every once in a while but I wasn't sure what the goal was, so after a little bit of turning around and flashing the flashlight at all the mannequins I stopped. The atmosphere was great, and I like the concept of things moving that aren't supposed to move. I would drop in some spatial sound effects on the mannequins that move and that would turn up the creepiness 10 fold. Great atmosphere! Good job!
Very nice lobby. I really enjoyed the mall environment as well. I kind of wish I could have moved around and explored a little - one my favorite things to do in VR is explore. Very cool. Great job.
Okay you got me. I forgot to read the description and was surprised at the end. Nice mechanic, got some real creepiness in there for sure. I did struggle quite a bit getting the "cap" off and back on. It seems only to work with the ray interactor and not hand interaction, which is kind of not great for a flashlight, but I eventually figured it out. You might want to let people know that there is no movement at all. I tried for ages to figure out why I couldn't. :) Well done.
