Notes from gameplay:
- Very cute art style, reminds me of Stardew Valley
- Nice music
- Good writing in the intro
- Aww, hi Bob, Mrowr yourself
- Nice detail with text about the painting
- Naughty Milo! Are you drinking toilet water?! How do I herd this cat out of here....
- Can't seem to feed Milo from the fridge full of cat food
- Took me a bit to realize I needed to chop the flower wall
- MORE CATS!
- I'm starting to suspect this town isn't quite....purrfect
- Music seems to have stopped, maybe isn't looping? Came back when I got kittyfied
- Aww, short
Cute start to a fun story! I hope you continue with this! It's got a lot of potential!
haha I'm glad you liked Bob, he started as a joke and then became part of the game. Yeah there's not much you can do with grandma's cat, I didn't manage to program any real interactions with him. And yeah you're right, it's definitely influenced by Stardew Valley... I like how in Stardew the music just kind of randomly starts but doesn't play in a loop. Next time I think I should add some rustling leaves or other sound effects to play after the song finishes so it's not just complete silence.
Thank you for your in depth commentary!
This was so cute and fun! Definitely more cutesy than horror-y, but I did notice and like the Halloween decorations and color scheme. I along with others was really bummed by how short it was, if you're passionate about this you should definitely continue! Great work so far.
thanks! After everything I learned during the jam I kind of want to redo all the code so maybe I'll pick it up later to see if I can make it better and continue the story
The game looks really cute and it was the story was intriguing. I like the colors you picked for the scenario and definitely would play a longer version of this!
thank you! Yeah I'll definitely have to figure out where the story goes from here
Awee shame you didn't get further with this its quite intriguing!
Thanks! I got a lot of ideas during the game jam and now I'm kind of attached to the story, so maybe later I will revisit the game and add to it <3
You really should :) Although jams are a great way to learn a bunch quickly and wish you did things differently haha
More cute than it is horrific; maybe if the story was flushed out! This has great potential. Great job, especially for learning all those new things into development!
Thanks! Yeah half my time was watching tutorials and wondering why things didn't work the way I wanted them to XD. I did a kind of rush ending in order to be able to turn something in. But I definitely had a lot more ideas, maybe I can revisit this game later and add to it.
Would of liked a horror twist but aside from that I enjoyed playing. It is well thought out and the player sprite has lots of character.
Thanks! Yeah I wanted to try and add more horror to the game but my programming skills are lacking XD
Cute, not really horror. Wish it was a bit longer.
Yeah, I had plans for other things but got stuck on some coding for like 2+ weeks and ran out of time!
