I don't really have anything to say that others haven't said better for me. This game is just really goddamn good.

yup. its peak.

i would merge the hp bar with either of the other bars, getting hit is both incredibly not-dangerous and doesnt interrupt your combo. if it cut down on your combo time or reset your camera charge i think it would go better probablie. also having the same indicator for "thing will teleport here" and "thing will attack here" is a bit funky

but other than that its one of the most solid jam games ive ever played

This game is fantastic

I finally got around to playing this game with a friend (Nutterbutterz, one of the awesome folks who worked on this game actually) and it was fantastic! We had such a blast throughout with him showing me the ropes and me blind-reacting to each of the levels, I was like "WHY IS LEVEL 2'S TERRAIN SO WHACK TO NAVIGATE AAAAAA" and he was like "LMAO BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS EASIER FOR PLAYERS THAN LEVEL 1 THOUGH???"

I absolutely enjoyed the art and music of the game, the title art is so silly and cute with all the little touches and the Miko Owl gawking at you, the font choices are stellar, the pixel art sprites are super cute, and Sanae's boss theme is such a banger!

Gameplay was also quite fun and I appreciate that recovery is fairly forgiving despite the increasing difficulty of the game throughout. I do have two complaints though: first, the inertia is really hard to work around which made dodging things like Okuu's laser walls and the Level 2 terrain frustrating. Secondly, you barely get any invincibility after getting hit, so it's very easy to be walled by enemies, lines of bullets, or lasers and just take a bunch of damage (45-60%) within 2-3 seconds without any chance to escape. If these issues can be worked, the gameplay would be so much smoother! I appreciate the fast pacing regardless, though.

Overall, I loved the game!!! I understand it seems like there's some bias in my rating because someone I know worked on this and also I'm a jam host - but my enjoyment of the game is genuine, promise!

This is so well made and fun to play. Love it. My only complain is that i wish the boss fights focused a little more on fighting/dodging the bosses themselves rather than them just being another enemy that you cant flash in a swarm of enemies. I hope this game gets expanded because so far it's my absolute favourite.

Gyroscopik below said pretty much everything relevant. That's a very solid game, had one of the best 30 minutes in a small while.

The style of the sprite is so cute. The balance, and the combo system make the game accessible to players of all skills, I'm sure a hardcore player will find a way to slap us in the face with incredible scores haha.

Congrats to the team for managing to pull a full package during the Jam time!

P.S.: I also played the shite of Shoot the Bullet and Double Spoiler, so I felt very much at home :)

Very fun gameplay! The movement felt really smooth, having a good amount of speed to make you feel fast while still being responsive enough to be able to avoid enemies or obstacles. This paired with the camera mechanic was a fun combination, and I appreciate being able to use the camera at a range or even defensively similar to the photo games.

I like how the enemy variety mixed up the different movement strategies you have to use to avoid them. I especially like the effect the Miko lasers have on the decision-making of your movement.
The spawn scaling of the enemies resulted in there being a lot on screen at a time, but because of the health regeneration from taking photos, it felt like a fair amount of scaling.
The introduction of tougher enemies as the levels went on was also really nicely done, and the boss fights were very interesting to play through.

The visuals in the cutscenes, portraits, and gameplay are all very pleasing to look at and the game also sounded great. Oh man that music 👌!

Very solid entry!
