Good game.

Only nitpick I have is the playable character's hitbox's visibility when focusing: a pale and translucent circle doesn't contrast much with Tenshi/Iku who already wear pretty light colours. But as I said, only a minor nitpick.

Everything else is good, and the overall is enjoyable, especially this artstyle that we don't see a lot. I've featured this game in my Game Jam showcase video!

Thank you very much, and the suggestion is appreciated, it will be taken into account for the full version of the game 😊

AWESOME art and very good gameplay!

Dang, this was super high quality in every regard! I love the wacky art, silly writing, and the way they worked together to create this fun cartoon atmosphere. Also, the gameplay was really solid and is now my favorite use of the theme in this jam.

Kevin Arthur's art is top notch, but in this case, is sad to see it was quite pixelated, not that it looks bad, but it looses quite the detail, as if it wasn't meant to be pixel art from the beginning, nonetheless they still add so much personality to the characters, it's so good.

Gameplay is nice, but Iku's shots were too slow, I really wanted to see more speed on those, Tenshi on the other hand feels just right, and the combo action while switching characters feel so natural that this almost doesn't feel like an ikaruga clone xD, plus, nice difficulty setting and variety on danmaku, good job there.

Music was, kinda lazy, quite slow for a shmup, not the hype type, more like relaxing, but with all those bullets it doesn't mix well xD.

This gave me a Gameboy Advance vibe that I just love too much, so thanks for that.

nice

Really nice for a jam, the artwork looks really damn good but I had trouble seeing bullets and my hitbox at times, the ikaruga style system wasn't immediately obvious to me either for whatever reason (personal problem maybe)

Every aspect of this game is fantastic, and not just in the context of a game jam. I only wish we had gotten to see the Seiga furby in the end. My score was 261079, in case anyone wants to compete.

It's a known difficulty to implement melee attacks well in shmups, but I think this game did a good job. The first kind of enemy you encounter (aimed single bullets at regular intervals) was a bit tricky to approach melee range against, but it was fine after I got used to the range of Tenshi's sword. I ended up using Tenshi for most of the first half of the boss fight, and it felt like a reasonable risk-vs-reward to go into melee range for more damage.

A minor complaint is that perhaps a too large part of the score is gained on the last boss attack. Perhaps it should also be possible to maintain a combo throughout the entire stage? It looked like there was a section without enemies were the player has to drop their combo. Is this good or bad design? I don't know, but perhaps something to think about.

Thank you so much for making this, I had a lot of fun playing it.

Steep learning curve but... wow. That was fantastic on almost every level. The switching mechanic creates extremely unique gameplay, and the difficulty is balanced extremely well with some great art and music to boot. I think this is a very strong contender for best entry: amazing job.

awesome cartoony animation, never seen a touhou game lookin like this before. miko has way more patterns than i could expect from a jam game, and dying to them isnt a problem since getting back is so fast. super good

Very fun, even if I just end up switching to Iku and using only her. I really dig the art style

Te quiero mucho washin (aunque seas medio maraco xd)

I am a fan of Kevin Arthur's art for quite a while, they are really expressive and sort of have that Sr Pelo vibes. I've seen him drew game concepts but it is now finally come to life. Kudos my friend.

I really dig the overall feel, the music, the art, the writing, the expressions are spot on energetic and full of humor. The combo and colour switching mechanic takes some time for me to realize but it make the game really fun. I also appreciate the fact that you made bullets that are safe transparent.  sadly I did not beat it though because I suck. I would suggest making the bullets a bit bigger though since it is hard to tell them at times, also being able to skip the dialogue is nice.

Overall a huge thumbs up and probably the best entry so far.  I will definitely look forward to future games, especially with Kevin Arthur's  art.

Thank you very much, I have never been good at thanking people who like my work, because feel that my words do not show how grateful and happy I am with your. It was a pleasant experience to participate in the touhou jam and, more importantly, I was lucky enough to being in a good team, I hope to work with them in the future, also played shanghai scramble great game dude C

Love the Kevin Arthur artwork!!!

It's a fun and difficult game with an interesting take on Ikaruga's gameplay. The switching mechanic was fun during the stage, where you could hit most of the enemies with Iku first and then finishing them off with Tenshi (the exception being the ghosts with red gloves, who need a T-I-T combo). However, it's a bit lackluster during the boss fight, where the character that you'll be using most of the time will be Iku, since Tenshi has such a low range and damage output against Miko in comparison.

The best implementation of this mechanic in the boss fight was the 3rd spell, where a curtain of either blue or red bullets approach you from behind while ghosts swarm the screen, here you can paralyze the enemies with Iku, switch to Tenshi to kill them, avoid the bullets and even damage Miko with Tenshi's sword.

It was a nice experience overall.

This was a really cool twist on the bullet hell formula, It really reminded me of Ikaruga! The art and music was also super charming, and I definitely made it a lot more difficult on myself by forgetting about the focus button lmaoo
