" *gasp* On the shelf, is that...??"

Sweet and short story, good amount of things to check out for this game's size. Wonder how many people jumped from Marisa's sudden entrance?

Although there isn't much, I included this game in my Jam showcase video:

You're the first to mention it so far, but part of me did wonder if the entrance might have been a bit sudden...

Thanks for including me in your video! I really appreciate it.

short but sweet; neat to me how much personality is imbued/conveyed in reimu just interacting with different parts of the room

the expression reimu makes when looking at `the big orb` has big pikasurprise energy, lov it

Cute!  The writing was creatively made and quality.

This is probably my favorite game of the jam so far! It's got such a nice vibe to it, very comfy, with the perfect level of sass for Reimu. I also really like the face sprites, they convey emotion very well

Heck yea fellow one-room-talking-sim pals!

Developer

Oh wow, thank you! I'm glad to hear that so many things I did paid off (like the Grumpy Reimu dialogue, because I've always been a fan of that). And more than one-room-talking-sims, I just realized a certain character also plays an important role in both our games, in a way...

brb gonna make Marisa stealing Rinnosuke's work for the Grimoire canon to my timeline--

Grumpy and quick-to-change Reimu is one of my favorite portrayals of her tbh. Never staying in one place emotionally, but outwardly she's just perma-grump (unless you offer her food)

It's cute, and feels like a complete little experience. I like the custom-made look of all the sprites and portraits. Even down to the font, it avoids looking like a stock RPGM MV game, and I can appreciate the effort that this must have taken.

I also can't run the linux version. I might be able to figure out why (in my experience, it's easy to make your "own" linux version of RPGM MV games by just copying around some files), but I just played the Windows version with WINE for the sake of simplicity.

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad my efforts did not go unnoticed, particularly in details like the font.
Really sorry about the Linux issues, I should have known that if I wasn't able to test something, then it was basically guaranteed to break. Will probably just stick to Windows builds from now on for RPGMaker, since getting peoples' hopes up with a version that doesn't even work is kind of a bummer.

For a first entry, this is really impressive. Lotsa charm.

The Linux version doesn't appear to run on Pop!_OS 20.10? The Windows version runs through Proton 6.3 when added to Steam as a non-Steam app, so I was still able to play it

Developer(+1)

Huh... I wish I could explain why (maybe some plugins I used?), but I was only able to test it on Windows, so I just kind of hit Export and hoped it would work. Thank you for taking the time to play regardless of that!

The big orb.

Surprising amount of detail for Reimu’s room considering the length of the game. Congrats on finishing your first(-ish) project!

Developer

Hah, thanks! Since I wanted to keep the scope the size of one room, I was able to spend extra time adding interactions and try to flesh out what little I had.

i can't believe marisa's most famous work was plagiarized............

all the detail and interactable stuff in the shrine is pretty neat
