Wehee, nice game, not really my jam but definitely well made!

The atmosphere was very good. Because I read the reviews in advance so I was scared that something scary would appear suddenly :.(

Developer

Thank you! It wasn’t that scary, right?

Submitted

It was okay because I was prepared for it. But I'm really scared to play horror games haha

I have not rated; I could not play the defaulted full-screen mode  (that could not be undone) messed up my browser.

Hmm… interesting - which os and browser, which resolution? My games worked fine on all live streams in the past, it’s the same engine as every week, so this result makes me curious

if the screen stays black please wait like 30 seconds - maybe it’s “just” the html timeout from a failed api login … try wait like 30 seconds please, just to know if that’s the case - would be a valuable information for me, thanks!

Tried both Chrome and Edge, Issue is on a large 4k monitor I dislike playing browser games in full-screen mode, but I could not get out of full-screen mode. I am really surprised that there is no option to exit full-screen mode, I don't know whether it is the way that your game engine has set the resolution or if there is a bug affecting my browser setup. (This first time I have ever seen a browser game force full screen from the start).

Developer (1 edit)

Must be on your side because the game is not full screen, it runs in the browser tab as any other game. Developed with chrome, tested in edge and chrome. Very interesting

You are correct, as I was posting correction with a screen shot I saw this reply

Submitted (1 edit)

Need to correct something, it's not true full screen, full screen within the browser window, so changing the 10%, 100%, or 250% zoom on the browser has a no effect.

Developer(+1)

Ah yes, that’s correct. Unfortunately that’s an issue between gamemaker and itch.io which I could not solve yet. If I don’t post it as Fullscreen on itch, something in the js runtime code of gamemaker prevents it from starting at all. No solution on that (yet)

Super cool and I love the spooky vibe. I had to change my pants after that first minion jumpscare tho

Developer(+1)

:-D

Yeah that minion is the most-spooky part of the game :D

This was really satisfactory, thank you for this. Maybe some more crunchy and juicy sounds would add more addiction, but not bad at all. Besides, adding a scoreboard is a very good option.

Developer

thanks! glad you enjoyed it! yeah the sounds are a bit too soft – they ARE very crunchy, with cries, splatter and heavy metal beats. i got feedback in earlier jams, that my music is “too much” … seems i got the other end now :-)

Gameplay 4/5 : simple and funny, a bit easy perhaps. Not completely new neither.

Visuals 5/5 : nice AD, with many things. Even if the global feeling is a bit "too much" and the buildings completely ugly , it's enjoyable for a quick game

Audio 3/5 : too light

Enjoy 3/5 : Intro was too long and I could not skip. I could not play easily with a no-english keyboard :(

Theme : 4/5 - Ok, if we consider we rescue people isolated amongst the zombies. It's in some way a part of the gameplay

Developer

Thanks for that detailled feedback. “ugly” you find the buildings? :-( i tried a graphics style that holds monocolor-sprites — every sprite only has 1 color (this is also true for the buildings) – at least they procedural generated - in every game you have new random buildings and random persons in the windows.

Submitted

Yes, I find the style of the graphics a real success. But not the sprite of the buildings :)

Your intro screen is very nice - what did you use to do the leaves and animated text?  Killing the zombies was very satisfying.

Developer

Thanks glad you had fun! :-)

The intro is super simple – it just uses a GameMaker Timeline and the text animation is from the scribble library (a must-have library when working with gamemaker)

Developer

I am happy if you play the game before the jam ends, but don’t forget to vote when voting starts ;-)
