Announcing the 2024 Ubisoft Australia Game Jam!

OUR INAUGURAL GAME JAM EVENT

We're thrilled to announce our very first Ubisoft Australia Game Jam event will take place March 29th - April 12th 2024, exclusively for Australian residents aged 18 years and older, who are currently enrolled in an Australian University or TAFE degree with a valid .edu email address. Whether you're an aspiring game developer, a seasoned programmer, or a passionate artist, this is your chance to shine!

UNLEASH YOUR CREATIVE VISION

The Ubisoft Australia Game Jam challenges you to harness the power of Unity or Unreal Engine and craft a unique game within a tight two-week timeframe. It's a chance to showcase your technical skills, storytelling prowess, and artistic flair. Whether you're into breathtaking visuals, mind-bending puzzles, heart-pounding action, or immersive narratives, this is your canvas to paint on.

TEAM UP AND POWER UP

Gather your friends or meet like-minded individuals to form teams of up to 6 people. Collaborative efforts often lead to the most amazing creations, so don't miss this opportunity to work together and bring your ideas to life.

SUBMIT AND SHINE

Once your masterpiece is ready, submit your game to our itch.io event page. Get ready for the next exciting phase: voting! The community's voice matters, as they'll determine the People’s Choice category winner. Voting will take place via itch the week of April 13th – April 19th 2024. It's an opportunity to see your creation resonate with players and fellow developers alike.

CLAIM YOUR VICTORY

The excitement doesn't stop there! Ubisoft Australia will personally handpick the winners from for the Overall and Theme categories. Results will be announced publicly on April 27th 2024. The three winning teams (one from each category) will be rewarded with exclusive prizes, including Game Download Codes, Collector’s Editions, and Statues/Figurines from Ubisoft’s extensive library of games. But that's not all - brace yourselves for a moment of fame as your game gets showcased on Ubisoft Australia's official social media platforms!

THE THEME IS... 'TRASH'

Ubisoft is committed to confronting climate change and developing internal and external initiatives to help the company and its communities to go green. Through events such as this, Ubisoft hopes to inspire players, creators and team members to address and tackle some of the environmental issues affecting our world. 

In an effort to do something a little different, the team decided to flip the usual 'Green' theme upside down, and encourage participants to explore the issues that are faced by our local ecosystem and its inhabitants more directly.

We look forward to seeing how you choose to interpret and apply the Theme in your games!
