Great storytelling and narration. You took the direction of the theme/focus in the right path
I would say the (player & enemy) hitboxes aren't clear but someone else already pointed that out..
The player does need to shoot faster bullets, one of the enemies was too fast and when the bullet finally reached they moved. I ended up just getting really up close to the enemy and shooting them and that apparently worked XDD.
A health bar would also be nice. You could add a health bar for the enemies too. If you don't want the health bars cluttering the screen then you can make them show for a short amount of time when either the player or the enemy gets hit.
Regardless great game! Totally unexpected. Good luck in the jam! :)
Yeah it’s funny. We spent the whole time writing up the story animations and code (this is mostly custom, with some setup code from the previous jam we did, but there’s no engine) that we didn’t really do the gameplay until the very end. Lots to improve on that front…
Yeah I forgot to mention it was really funny. Especially the beginning. Also no engine??!?! Is this pure html?? xD
Yeah, it’s just javascript using webgl :)
What an amazing story telling / bullet hell game! It was enjoyable from beginning to end. Awesome job!

Genius interpretation of the theme! Combined with a cute little bullet-hell game. Love it!
Very creatively fun. Surprisingly the structure still works even though it seems as you are making it up on the spot. Maybe join the gameplay and voice-over at the same time?
As a filmmaker I loved the dramatic structure. It tells the heroes tale and trials and tribulations perfectly. The only thing I would say is fix the shooting. The bullets curve so much and they're so slow it was near impossible to not die to every boss. I did like though that when you die the narrator tells you it's not supposed to happen and resets the stage so to speak. A healthbar or some sort of indication that I'm kicking ass or getting mine kicked would be very useful. All in all solid and tidy little jam game.
Fun game! I like that use of narrator voice, not much ppl do that with so many lines in a jam
This was so great! I completed the game! I REALLY like how you used the theme. The animations and art style was incredible. Amazing job! This is one of my favorites so far!
I have some feedback that I hope you find helpful! Some of the bullet patterns are very overwhelming and too difficult. The enemy and player hitboxes are also not clear so it makes the game a bit confusing to play. I feel it's missing some kind of player feedback to let you know how you are doing like the player's health and enemy health.
