Fantastic work. Everything tied together really nicely and felt good. Is there a way to re-edit your level after finishing it? I found that after completing the level, it copies it to the clipboard and then you can't go back in and tweak it (I'm sure I just missed something). I watched treblig-punisher's twitch stream and saw some of the improvements and changes made, looks awesome! I'm excited to see more from this. Keep it up!

Developer

thank you! I think in the jam version, the only way to do it would be to die…but this is certainly something that we should include. Glad you enjoyed it!

Developer

Very glad you enjoyed our game :D. That's a great suggestion, and as Jor said, we'll take that into consideration for sure!

I'll make sure we have a lot of the things I want to get done work with the rectangle selection tool too to speed up the level making process.
Thanks a lot for playing!

honestly amazing!!! like how?? TEN DAYS how did you do this in ten days ?? i am just amazed and confused lol

Developer(+1)

thank you! It was honestly a soul crushing amount of work, though having two coders helped a lot :) i’m so glad you enjoyed it!

Developer(+1)

We ask ourselves that too haha. It's definitely a crazily scoped fun game. I am very glad you liked our work!
Hope you come back for the post-jam version of it. As Sony would say:

" Greatness Awaits!"

Thanks a lot for playing!

Yooo the artwork is great! The player character reminded me immediately of Rayman and Jazz Jackrabbit and I was into it! On top of being a really nice run and gun platformer itself, it’s very impressive how you made all of these tools in such a short time, and on top of that, made them fairly intuitive.

I noticed a couple of things, like having 2 goals in my hand at one point (no major bugs, just ignores the second one when I try to place it) and the close button for the shop being behind the window instead of in front. Other than that I enjoyed the experience and hope to see more of it!

Developer(+2)

Thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and the art was all Punisher and he did a great job. And as you can imagine the scope for this game got away from us a bit, but you can certainly expect those bugs to be fixed in a post jam version. Thank you so much for playing and glad you enjoyed it!

Developer(+1)

Oh man, thank you so much for the kind words! truly warms my heart to get so much love for my art <3. I am beyond happy with the reception of the game in its current state. There's a lot of things we wanted in the game that didn't make it, but that we're now getting to add it. Most of the programming was done by Jor. By the time I joined Alot of the game was already in place, so i had to make sure I delivered, and as you can see, we've gotten nothing but love from you guys.

Thanks a lot for playing Mavvy!

Developer

Glad you liked it! we got some levelsl you can import in the comments!
Thanks for playing!

hi, and thanks for checking out the game and so glad you liked it! There are actually a bunch of pre-made levels, we chose to put them on the discussion board to encourage users to try out community levels rather than just the ones we made. Hope you enjoy them!

Submitted(+1)

I'll give them a try!

Awesome and unique game idea! I love it! Reminds me a bit of Mario Maker or the brilliant Ultimate Chicken Horse.

The movement and gun play feel pretty good. It's fun moving through levels. I think there is a lot of potential to turn this into a proper game with more Objects and Enemies and Challenges.

The UI was a bit tricky to understand. Some tooltips or explanations would have been nice but it was manageable to build and play levels.

The visuals are pleasing. I really like the player character and the snail. Destructable terrain is a nice touch and makes shooting even more interesting because it would totally no help you destroying the platform you're standing on :D

Cool game! Well done!

Developer

glad you liked it!

We'll be including tool tips with the next release, and bug fixes. A lot has been revamped already. We're trying to make things a lot more intuitive for sure!

Cool! I'll keep an eye on updates then. :)

It's really cool that you went for making and sharing your own levels for a game jam, that shows a lot of technical prowess and ambition! Nice work!

Developer

It was pretty ambitious for sure! Glad you liked our work!
If you get to make any levels make sure to pos them here!

I loved the idea of destroying other peoples level and using that to build your own. Graphics and songs were juicy and added to the experience.

I wish we could adjust the tiles property better, it's a permanent upgrade which makes it hard to design easier or harder parts.

Well done!

"I wish we could adjust the tiles property better, it's a permanent upgrade which makes it hard to design easier or harder parts."Thank you! We'll take this into condieration! There are some cool things I've been wokring on, so make sure to give both me and mightyjorn a follow for more cool things!
Thanks a lot for playing!

i had fun making my house in this game. really makes me feel like im in new york. i like that i was able to make the level for once instead of dying in a level i know nothing about

Developer

Glad it was fun for you!
Make sure you share your creations in the comments so others can play too :D. Thanks a lot for playing!

Hi, loved the general aesthetic and design of the game. I found it a bit hard at first to work out what each block type did, but once I did I really enjoyed it.

However, I did run into a bug where I tried removing a crystal and it completely crashed the game.

I also struggled a bit to see how it relates to the theme "Multi-use" or indeed "Turn up the Heat". *

Overall, I think its one of the best games in the jam, it is just unfortunately too buggy at the moment.

* Just as an fyi, I'm being more critical in this comment because I noticed you're a more experienced dev and I believe your game really has potential.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yeah we really worked our butts of on this one for it to look polished. That stinks you got a crash, I’ll have to look into that. Regarding the theme and restriction, multi-use is due to the fact that you collect the parts of other players levels to use in building your own, so all the levels are more or less recycled. And turn up the heat leans into the Mario maker trend of making super hard levels, where your level gets a heat rating based on how complex/difficult it is and then you share with the community.

Thanks for checking it out and I’m glad you had fun!

Great concept lot's of fun. Awesome idea for sharing with a community during a game jam, nice and simple copying the clipboard data.

Although I had some bugs I think? If I died to a slug on a level you made it takes me to an empty editor with the same heat level and name as the one I was playing. Shooting anything on the L shaped blocks is impossible because it only detects that game object first, so you can't shoot anything sitting on that block until it's destroyed first.

Otherwise great work, something different.

Developer(+1)

Hmm thats odd, it should load the last level you were working on. Darn must have hit some kind of bug with the loading. And I'll have to look into the L shaped blocks, thanks for the tip! Thanks for playing through!
