It does feel really good once you get into the hang of it, but it's a bit hard getting to that point. The platform disappearing when I pressed space made it feel that I just had to press space to attack. There doesn't seem to be reason for the other direction because most of the time I just want to go up and away from the flames.

 With better air control, it could be really fun. The gameboy aesthetics were really nice too

As others have said, it took some time to get a handle on the movement. I found it to be a bit too loose. If it were a bit tighter and less 'icy' it would have made things more player friendly. The mechanic was good to play around with and a number of times launching myself into the fire by attacking upwards lol. The ambience from the music was nice. My favourite aspect of it, that helped it feel not so empty or repetitive was the dynamic colour palette. Every time I started over it just felt fresh, and that alone made me want to give it another go. Thanks for the experience.

I Love The Game, It Feel Fluid And Juicy Enogh To Be Perfect

At first this was really difficult but after I figured out the hollow night pogo mechanic, it turned into a pretty fun little arcade game. Couple suggestion if you're looking for some feedback:

1)  I think making the players attack a bit bigger (larger hitbox)  because it was was pretty difficult to swing at the enemies with such a tight margin of error.

2) Also think making the players hitbox a bit smaller because sometimes I would die and it didn't feel like I really ran into an enemy

Other than that, this was a pretty fun arcade game albeit really challenging.

Once I knew what I was doing, it was nice, but it took a lot of trial and error.  The movement of left and right is very floaty, so I constantly need to over correct to get close to what I need to hit, often leaving me out of range to hit them, or running into them before I get a chance to attack.

Also, while the description of your game helps explain the keys to use, it doesn't explain how. all the arrow keys are listed as movement even though only left and right actually move you. it also doesn't explain that while using the keys chooses the attack direction,  it doesn't make it clear that you need to keep holding those keys to attack that way, and not that it's just the last one you used, but also that you can use an up or down with a left or right to aim diagonally. Lastly just not knowing I needed to attack the enemies to stay up was pretty confusing, one because when you first press space, there's no indication of using an attack to launch yourself up, so I thought instead I was missing what key to press to stay up, second because you only stay up if the enemy is below you, so there's not much use for trying to attack any direction other than down. 

Your game would have really benefited from more instructions, not just in the game description on the website, but since it's a game you have to download, you aren't necessarily playing on the page with the controls listed, so the game itself only lets you know you can use space.

That being said, the graphics are lovely and the music and sounds are fitting. Having the arrow keys for attack direction and some movement does fit for multiuse, and the fire works for turn up the heat, it's just the controls are difficult to figure out, and then use even once you know how they work.

I agree that there is not any in game instruction, which is a problem. I plan on reviewing these comments and making a version 2 so anyone in the future can have a more seamless experience playing this game. In general, all the issues are fixable so I shouldn't have too much of a problem adjusting.  I really appreciate the insightful comment.

I kind of had to force myself to stop playing once I figured out how it works - real fun!
Got my high score to 23.

The range of the attack seemed a little short and sometimes I would get so high up it was impossible to see myself. Maybe adding a ceiling for the player or a marker that showed you where you were horizontally on the screen would help. At least the big enemies bounce off the ceiling.

Also resetting the players attack cooldown on hit might give some use for attacks that don't attack downwards. That would let players ping-pong around the level more fluidly.

I like this game idea. It took me quite a while to work out what to do, but eventually I got the hang of it and I got a high score of 19. I found timing the jumps a little too difficult; I kept jumping too early or late and it became a bit frustrating. It also felt like there wasn't much point in pressing any direction other than down, given that staying in the air is the main challenge. The graphics are very clean and consistent and I like the variety in the colors. Solid music and sound effects too. Nice work!
