Very fun concept and great presentation! I'm not a big fan of driving though, especially when it becomes speedy. And the time limit make it almost impossible for me to pass through more levels than tutorial. The tutorial surprisingly also had timer and very tough. May be it's just me preferring more relaxed game style, idk. The game looks really great and without time limit and with some sort of snap-turn-driving I'd definitely tried to pass all levels.

Developer

Yes the timing has been a issue with some I will go back into it after the Jam and add a good 30 to 40 seconds on to help all thanks for you feedback :) (also left all levels open just in case the time was a issue)

Great job! The execution is really amazing on this one with your intro sequence, levels, effects, sounds, models, etc . It really feels like a complete game, rather than something made within a week!

I think deliveries could use some more time and it was hard reading the items in the back of the van. There was a nice sense of humor to it all though and it definitely incorporates the theme incredibly well!

Great job!

Developer

Thanks yeh more time will help. I will add it after the Jam :) blame my twins they worked out the times lol. The idea for the humor was all the old 80s stuff Ghostbusters with the pole at the start and Beetle juice style music.

I had a lot of fun playing this, but it was way too difficult.

Developer

Will be adding more time when the Jam is over to help :)

Wow great job- lots of thought and planning in this one. Nice touches to fill out the world with mission instructions and good voice overs. The music gave some fun urgency and the environment looked really nice. I had some trouble with steering at first, sometimes it would cross my hands  but that might have been me trying to get used to steering in VR.

Developer

Yeh steering can be a bit tricky if you put your hands at 10 and 2 and just make your turns slowly it works better for me like that as crossing them it flips things around, something to work on in the future that :) most of the (planning/idea) was done on the Friday night lol me and the kids jumped on the news it started and had a brain storm..there ideas came second lol been (super) fun making this in 7 days and glad you liked it.

Take it from the perspective of someone who has a high tolerance for motion sickness.

This is the funniest game so far.

Wow, your style is great. Everything is very stylish, themed and works well with each other. The music is fun, but I would like a variation (not for the jam, but in general), gets tiresome after a couple of runs. The starting intro, the button I didn't press, and other little gags and details work very well too.

The car controller is cool and fun. There are only issues with the collision handling, it feels very simple and plastic. And what is the number in front of the steering wheel? It's definitely not speed or gears, and if they are, it's so poorly done. But overall very cool.

I recommend on 1st mission to remove the timer, or at least make it huge. The player at this point just learning the game and the rush over time is very frustrating and creates an uncomfortable environment for learning.

Another thing about the timer. Maybe we should make it so that while in the car, the timer slows down, because at that point the player is essentially trying to guess which item fits better. And if there were about 5 options, there would be enough time, but with 20 different items and their descriptions it's already hard to figure out in a minute, but you only have 15 seconds.

The situations themselves are fun, but at this point you're often trying to guess what the developer was thinking in that situation, 50% of the time there is no intuitive answer. Maybe you should add an additional explanation from the person who asked for help, in plain text. For example in level 1: "Help! My cat climbed a tree and does not come down!", something like this. There will be more understanding of what's going on. (5th (maybe) mission, balloons, what was going on there xD?)

Developer

Thanks for the great feedback, yes if more time would have added a bunch of what you said. yeh I was pushed on some of the times too and I knew what the item was lol so yes need to be longer or like you said slow down in the van. The number should be the gears I didnt notice anything wrong there will take another look. like the idea of getting rid of the time or making it longer on the first mission, at first I have added 20 seconds to that as my little twin testers where doing that level really fast (first right then a left and straight on) gets there dead quick. also the end yes I did want to add something in when you get out of the van like on a watch designed like the computer in the office that reminds you what your looking for but blame the kids lol they said no makes it harder haha opps but could bring the watch idea back no probs :)

The whole superhero idea sounds interesting to me. Well done! Here is some feedback. Hope this helps:

Pros

Superhero theme well done

Consistent art style (Music, SFX, Art)

Cons

Way too hard (increase time)

Driving can make motion sick

Not clear if game was lost or won when hearing news sfx

Driving forward and backwards can get mixed up

Ideas

Ability to stop the time for a certain amount in order to think about the strategy what the hero needs

Split up time for segmente (1 min driving to destination, 1 min selecting correct item)

Navigation arrow should be more in the front

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. I got the times off my twins having a go and put the time in the middle. was going to add a different sfx for losing but forgot to add in and the paper say's win or loss. played around with the arrow having it along the bottom then middle and ended up going for the top as out of the way of the player. I like the stopping of time idea but just adding more time would help there. maybe my kids where too good at it when testing lol also I left all levels open just in case, as I did have a unlock system ready to add but being a Jam left open for all to play easy if got stuck :) again thanks for the feedback

The idea behind this game is super creative, and the game feels very polished. Also, I love the intro!

Developer(+1)

Thanks glad you liked it. The intro was a last min add on, as it just started on the level selection page and I just wanted something to pull the player in more.

Wow, that is SSSuperfun!

Played only 3 levels yet, but have to say it's my favorite game so far.

Only 2 very minor suggestions:

  • Would be good if rotation would be continuous (or at least have the choice between it and snapping) and when you sit in the car in the same direction like you stood before
  • Buttons should be also clickable with fingers i guess. Took me a while until i noticed have to push them with the fist^^

And yes, you probably really shouldn't click that button on top right :-D

Developer

yes ran out of time to add smooth turning, it was on the list of things to do then I noticed the time lol. I will take another look at the pushing the buttons as when I played I just used my pointing finger and worked fine. I said don't touch .....some people just don't listen :) Helllloooo!!!

It's just too tempting^^
