Nice idea, but I found it hard to play due to the controls and did make me feel a bit queasy. I would've like to play for longer, but I'm afraid motion sickness kicked in on this one.

Developer

Yes thankyou for your reply will surely see to it if we work on it again….. TwT

Nice concept and idea but that joystick roll mechanic made our chef sick, he took the day off. You may want to try our game as well if you like space concept ;)

Trying to make everyone speedrun your throwup simulator lol. Seriously though, the concept is great, it would fit perfect with mechanics from something like "Lone Echo" the main culprit is the thumbstick rotation on the left hand. That is what is throwing everyone off for sure. I couldn't play much more than a minute, but I can see you put a lot of effort into placing assets and designing the game. Maybe put up a trailer of how the game is played as well.

Developer(+1)

I entirely agree, that's why I decided to make a trailer so you can get the overall game idea without the motion sickness :)
You can watch it here!

Oh man that's so cool! I didn't even know you could leave the truck. If you fix those controls for the motion sickness I'm sure it'll be a blast to play. Looks like a lot of fun!

I couldn't finish playing the game unfortunately due to motion sickness. The camera tilting with the joysticks was too much for me. I've never played Echo VR either, so I couldn't figure out the controls before I got too sick. I would recommend adding text or image explaining the controls rather than saying it's similar to Echo VR in the instructions page.

I couldn't get too far but the space environment was cool though. I liked the sun.

Ah okay! It looks great! I like the idea of delivering through Zero G and launching yourself towards the planets.

I really appreciated the concept of preparing food and taking it into space. I, like others, am also very resistant to motion sickness, but I had a bit of a hard time adjusting to the controls to start getting the hang of it and playing in peace. Regardless, with a little improvement it can become a great game! Congratulations on the idea though!

Got to the moon and ate(?) the green sparkling cube. Not sure what that did though lol

Overall, I’m very adapt to VR motion sickness and barely had any, only a little at the start. I had more issues with the horror aspect of spaces. Felt chills down my spine going outside the kitchen.

I think the reason why I had a little motion sickness at the start is because the camera rotates around the feet for some reason. You should be rotating around the head in my opinion. That would feel more natural and give people less motion sickness. It would also make flying around feel like it makes more sense.

I do appreciate having the “stop floating” button. Otherwise it would’ve been incredibly difficult to navigate because of how much you float and how hard it is to see your movement. And I had to use it a lot because the movement just kept going in one direction. Maybe giving more jetpack force to change direction easier would be a good idea. Also showing people which direction you are putting force into. My best guess is that it was the hand direction? I wasn’t really sure to be honest.

Unfortunately, I was not able to figure out the cooking(?) mechanics. It would help if you could grab onto more surfaces to navigate yourself better. I kept trying to grab onto meshes that didn’t work to my surprise. The pickpus were also difficult to know what do with and they easily phased through walls and disappeared for me. And when I did pick them up, I was really confused about what to do with them.

I really hope I’m not sounding too negative. I really liked the concept and what you managed to do. I’m suspecting that for yourself, a lot of the mechanics made more sense. So I wanted to offer as much of my impression as possible so you can figure out how to make it make sense for others too.

Perhaps the project was a bit too ambitious? Consider starting limiting your idea more during jams like these. Like only be able to rotate on the Y axis, for example, feels like would’ve made things easier to design at first. And then extend it further if you have more time. But oh well, it’s not like I followed that advice in my project hahaha

Either way, I did enjoy flying around and exploring. Good job.

Thanks a lot such responses and suggestions do mean a lot. Yes it was too ambitious for a 7 day jam ahahahaa, but guess what we still tried to do everything that we thought would make game more interesting…. Bruh and you reached the Moon ahahaha kudos…… Will surely take your suggestion and work on it if our team ever gets time (yk its vacationnnnnnn time :> ). I hope you liked exploring around and having fun ……

Developer

You were not too negative, and I totally agree. It's very hard to figure out what to do.
We made a short trailer so you can get the overall idea of the game without having to actually play that mess of motion sickness :)

The concept is nice, but get hard motion sickness very quickly unfortunately^^

I think you maybe should describe the movement a bit better. Just read that it is like EchoVR, so knew roughly what to do, but guess you shouldn't rely the main game-mechanic on the assumption, that the player played another particular game before.

Wished i could play it a bit longer, because it's actually pretty cool.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the review. Yes we too felt that it might cause motion sickness, but it was about time, so thats all we could do during this time limit. Thankyou for your review and suggestions, will surely work on it :>>>>>

Interesting concept. I guessed how to move but rotation with left stick seems unnecessary because I don't want kitchen to be upside down. BTW I didn't find ham to fulfil the order. Might be I'd prefer movement in the kitchen without flight and only fly outside.

Developer

Hey, the ham was the pepperoni-like food next to the pineapple :d

I looked for the fridge :D

Ok so here was my experience and feedback.

The sickness definitely got to me on this one. It was a bit more extreme than I was expecting. And there were no comfort options. The movement is cool but could be better refined. Also trying to stabilise myself, I still found myself slowly gliding away and if I held down the stop button the camera jittered.

I first tried it without reading how to play to see if I could figure it out. I eventually saw the order notes and the menu and figured out what items were what however I had no idea what to do from there.
I then went back and read the how to play section and all it says is to put items in bags and then take them to tables on the red spheres. Well every time I tried to put an item in the back, they fell straight through and through the ground so I wasnt sure how to get them to go in. As well as this, I saw there are things to prepare food like a fryer and cutting board but didn't get far enough to be able to use them as the order notes got stuck in a corner I could not reach from floating about.

But the concept is interesting and I really loved the environment design with the food truck on this tiny planet and the star looked amazing.

Developer

Haha, I definitely agree on the motion sickness, sadly there was little to no time to rework or add new movement styles :d

As for the food falling through the bag, very weird.

Hey dude, not sure if this was tested on Quest 2 (only device I've got), but the movement doesn't work. I tried with the joysticks on each controller but it just rotates your body, so I wasn't able to play it.

If there is a video of the gameplay, I'd be happy to rate on that instead :)

Developer

Inside the truck, you can grab the walls or ground to move around, and you can use the secondary button to use the jetpack

Developer

Yep, like the other creator said, you use the secondary and primary buttons to move & stop. There was a "How to play" Section on  the main menu, which should've explained how the movement works.

Developer

Well, there's a gameplay video now! It's a short trailer but it holds the same premise :)
