No

Yes

How did you incorporate the theme "COMBINATION"?
A combination of input was my idea, so you have to press a combination of arrow keys to lock on to the enemy to be able to shoot. 2nd part is that there is also a combination of upgrades that you can get to do ridiculous amounts of damage

Great game, you even made a tutorial!

Its pretty fun and it fits the theme well

Very well made, interesting use of the theme!

Interesting idea, and with the very thorough tutorial it was very easily understood. Felt super polished overall, and pretty fun, if a little hard for me. Great work!

This is a great idea with a ton of polish! I thought it looked and felt great to play. The features in it really looked like what you might find in a commercial mobile game. I did run into a bug where you would put in the combos for a small plane and it wouldn't actually shoot out a missile when you pressed space. Other than that, it was smooth sailing. Great game!

Really fun and cool game. Nice concept. But a bit too difficult.

amazing game! and really fun to play, the art is super cute :3, I only felt that the player moved too fast sometimes to make the right combos, but I guess that's part of the difficulty hehe

Very unique idea that came together very well as a package.  I found it to be a bit too challenging balancing moving my plane, keeping 2 enemies within my line of sight, and hitting the correct arrow key sequence, but I think as a whole it's a well made game with a very novel and unique premise.

Cool looking game with a unique idea although took a while to figure it out!

The art style is nicely done, especially the houses/trees. Interesting way to incorporate the theme with a target-lock. Personally I'd look at simplifying the combination somehow, either just < >, or shorten the pattern to 3, as I found the juggle between staying nearby an enemy and trying to lock on was frustrating at times. But the general concept is fun and has a lot of potential!

Thanks for the feedback currently the pattern's length is randomised between 3 to 5 throughout the game, maybe i could shorten it to 3 then as the game progresses maybe increase it to be more challenging

Cool game ^^ First I had issues because I clicked on the full screen button and that destroyed the tutorial (no messages appeared) probably because of my ultrawide screen resolution.

Then I read your instructions and it was much more clearer! I don't know if the upgrades you could get were random or not, but you could have a cool roguelike idea there.

One thing though, at first it wasn't really clear to me that the other planes had to be in the whole circle to be able to attack them, first I tried to keep them in the outer ring (because it is so wide that it made sense) and it was nearly impossible to manage them lol. So maybe just having a circle around the player or making the one you have a lot thinner would be a good change.

Nice idea for the theme as well, so all in all good job :D

Thank you for the detailed feedback, interesting issue with the tutorial, i dont have a ultrawide monitor so i never thought about the resolution issue

The upgrades are all random. The initial idea was to have a skill tree but i didnt have time so i reduced it to being this random minigame idea.

Haha the ring was the first ring sprite i found and i never got around to changing it but i could see why it could be confusing ill definitely change it.

What I liked

  • Theme is clearly implemented in the game.
  • The music meshes with what I'm seeing. It doesn't clash.
  • You made a classic game your in your own style.
  • You included a tutorial

Suggestions / Feedback

  • The thing that stood out the most to me was the player movement controls. In a game like this, it feels natural to assume that you accelerate/decelerate when the up/w button is held or not, and left and right buttons just rotate you in that direction. The movement was hard for me to adapt to.

Overall, congratulations on submitting and keep at it!

Developer

Thank you for playing. Initially the controls were like what u assumed it to be but it got really hard to keep the enemy within range because of the curve when you have to rotate but i will definitely keep testing different controls because this was just what felt the best at the time.

Nice sooo hard to lock 2 enemies at once :D. The idea is very nice.

Developer

Thanks for playing haha i agree that it is harder to lock 2 enemies but I wanted the player to be flying towards a group of enemies instead of just running away and taking out the enemies one by one

Nice game!

how can i kill an enemy? i've tried pressing the arrows in the specified order, but it didn't work

Developer

press space to shoot after you lock on

Submitted

Shooting seems broken :(

Developer(+1)

You can only press space to shoot after you have locked on to at least 2 enemies

Developer

i guess i could have explained the controls better, i will edit the details to hopefully better explain it.

Got it :) Finally managed to shoot. Out of curiosity, why this limitation?

Developer

Haha thank you for coming back to try it. It was because during playtest i realised that the player would just run away and take their time to type a combination and space, then another combination then space and they didnt really felt the pressure to try to target as many enemies as possible while they were within range which is when the chaos start to happen especially with the ricochet upgrade.
