This is one of the best use of the theme I saw, you made a simple but very well made puzzle game, good work!

The core mechanic is great, and the level design and pacing have been pulled off masterfully. The art style is really clean and stylish, which really helps with the readability of the design.

The only thing really missing is some chill puzzle music to tie everything together.

Super simple graphics and intuitive. Fits perfectly the thematic. Was really tough for me but for sure people who likes puzzles will love it. Nicely done!

Super clean graphics and sound effects all blend very well. Great idea for a puzzle game and the execution was on point.

Nice simple visuals, gameplay was surprisingly challenging, sometimes felt more like lucky guesswork  than calculation to solve, but the level of depth is impressive

What I liked

  • I love lock picking mechanics in games.
  • I enjoy the minimalist approach. Its something I still haven't got down yet.
  • Visuals looked alright
  • I really liked that you kept audio to picking the lock. I think it really incorporates the having to listen closely while you pick one. I think implementing some background music might detract from the core experience.
  • I've seen this lockpicking system before, but the good new is that yours has been the only one that isn't timing based (wait until they line up and then shoot through the ring gaps. ) None have required you to puzzle out the locks by locking single rings, while the others still rotate.
  • The connection to the theme is the core mechanic

Feedback / Suggestions

  • I may just be bad at the game, but I feel like the difficulty starts too high. I think the game would benefit from a lower starting difficulty and slowly ramp it up after that.
  • I think the game could also benefit from a hint system for the first 3 levels (you made 12 of 'em). If a game is pretty difficult from the start, you're going to lose player interest.

Overall, I liked this entry and congrats on submitting!

I sort of disagree on this. I like puzzle games that kind of start out tough to make you think about them a lot more. I enjoy the witness styled puzzles of figuring what a puzzle is about which was what this puzzle game was great at. Though I think that you could’ve made it harder in terms of making the parameters tougher as the game progressed like limiting the amount of locked off stuff. Depends with the player, though. Some people like these kinds of puzzles while others don’t as much

That's fine. I'm just providing feedback based on my experience and personal preference. If you think I'm wrong, that's fine. If you accomplished what you set out to do, that's all that matters.

Awesome game!

Good idea, great realisation. Just the right number of levels and the time mode is also a great idea.

(In level 12, the locking was a bit buggy.)

This is such a clean simple game, great job!

Congrats :) Most original submission I've played so far. Although it's difficult, it's certainly not impossible and  presents a good challenge. Really good theme interpretation too. I'm missing some background music. Also try with a less saturated background, it hurts the eyes after playing for a while.
