Wow! Amazing game! i loved the music (bops hard) and the s platform mechanic. super creative and original take on the theme. overall polish was really good too. y'all did a great job!
Excellent platformer with great movement controls, beautiful sound and visual effects! My respect!
Really awesome high def sprite art for the characters and BG! Perhaps make the walking tiles a little more distinct. A few times I jumped to spots I thought were platforms at first glance, only to fall hehe. Keep working on it. Great job submitting a game to the jam! Pls check out mine if you have time :)
Hey there, thank you for playing our game and for your compliments on my art. Do you still remember roughly in which sections you mistakenly jumped on something that wasn't a platform. I'd like to sort these things out but it would be great to know where the problems are biggest ^^ (I'll also make the generic walking platforms brighter and the blue lines more obvious to make them stand out more)
Ah! man, I loved almost everything about this game, it's hard to believe that it was made during a game jam, it really deserves more rates than it has, great job dude!
Please consider rating my game too ^^
Like this game is PERFECT, if made only in 3 days! Keep up your work, you have a great potential!
Great movement controls, jumping good be heftier. Hard to discern what a platform is vs what isn't. A bit of tweaking and polish and more feedback elements and you can take this great game and make it excellent.
Hm I don't want to lose the ability to have a detailed background since the visual quality is an important factor to our game and don't want to lose the stylistic coherence of our game so outlines would sort of stand out in a bad way. I think I'll try to increase the value difference between the platforms and the background by making the platforms brighter. Maybe I'll also increase the saturation of the blue lines on the platform. Might work...
Either way, thanks again for your insightful feedback.
This was really unique experience. I cannot belive that this was made in three days!
Gorgeous! Checkpoints could be more often and the enemies sometimes don't spawn after respawning the player. Great lights and the player character! Super error platform!
Looks and plays really really well. The enemy you chose perfectly synerizes with your core mechanic. Visual presentation is absolutely on point.
My only criticism would be that the game is a bit hard (especially once the stop signs and memes start coming in) and the attack / dash mechanic doesn't feel that great to use as the amount of knockback you receive feels a bit too random and uncontrollable. To be honest the game might have worked even better without the attack/dash mechanic. You could already use your error platform to destroy enemies after all.
Overall rally good game. Nice. :)
Thanks for commenting... AGAIN! :D
I think the way to fix the glitch pulse would be to add a way to cancel the knockback after some time and to explain it better. It seems random because you don't know how it works: You basically get knocked back the more speed you have. Once you know this and know how to use this fact, you can perform some pretty sick synergetic moves in combination with the error platform. They can be hard to execute but are super satisfying if you get them right. I think in a future version we should just add sections that explain its functionality better (and perhaps also try to make it more consistent through code.
Thanks again for your comment. It's highly appreciated.
Error platform is the best mechanic I saw during this game jam. It's super cool that you can put it down to kill enemies, too. My one remark (if I may say so) would be that for a long part of the game there are really much less enemies than your health, which allows you to tank all of them with no consequences.
I also found a probably unintentional bug: if you die - health pickups respawn, but your health is saved (so you can easily replenish full health). If that was intended, maybe checkpoints should regenerate health themselves?
Overall the game is extremely well made, wow. Kudos to developers!
Thanks so much! I love the error platform too :)
I agree, we're currently very liberal with the amount of health we give the player. Most of the challenge really comes from not making certain jumps without falling into the instakill hazards. In a possible future full version, this will need some re-tooling. The current version is perhaps a little bit of an overreaction to a previous state where we basically gave you no health packs at all. I think we should instead only respawn packs that are outside the current zone and only if you die. But there might also be some loopholes with that haha.
This game has the appearance of a professional game that is worth publishing! The graphics seemed to me the best of the jam. Awesome work!
Really great game, I really enjoyed it but I couldn't get past the popup ads.
Love the art and sound :)
so fun. Very well done game mechanics. this is the most awesomest game!
